After far too much time off, I have resumed composing my twisted masterpieces. I'm posting them here as I work on them for community feedback; please listen and comment.

1. Let The Confusion Begin (8:58)
Guitar, bass and drums completed. Keyboards (mostly) done thru 4:12.
This demo has no vocals... you'll have to guess where the lyric go and what the melody is. (Bwahahaha. >:[ )

Lyrics:

I looked away and the darkness fell
On my skin the rain is smooth glass, breaking promises on the sidewalk as the trucks roar by
My fallen comrades have ghosts in their eyes
The door is open, but no one leaves

I have been given my own head on a silver platter
They whisper in unknown languages, never dreaming I understand
Quickly now, I must tell you a secret
Time is too precious to spend it alive

I was born like an animal child
Breathing out in the wild
Forlorn like the space in the night
Alone in the heart of my mind

Now I see all the colors of pain
And I feel the sensation of stain
Assembled and taken apart
Like a stone in the mind of my heart

Look upon my face / Something out of place
Look upon my smile / Sea of reptiles

My secret is yours / I see it clearly
I feel it near me / I held it once more
I have no answer / I have no memory
I feel it near me / Outside the door

Look around at the brick and the steel
Everything that I can feel
The pristine smell carries a lie
Horrors await me inside

Won't you take your medication
And report on the sensation
Does it bring any elation
Will you make a declaration

Well you better look out
Let there be no doubt
Coming out of the ground
Rising out of a cloud

Look upon my face / Something out of place
Look upon my smile / Sea of reptiles

My secret is yours / I see it clearly
I feel it near me / I held it once more
I have no answer / I have no memory
I feel it near me / Outside the door

Are you afraid?
Do you remember?
Is this real?

<guitar solo>

Look upon my face / Something out of place
Look upon my smile / Sea of reptiles

My secret is yours / I see it clearly
I feel it near me / I held it once more
I have no answer / I have no memory
I feel it near me / Outside the door

2. Sunday Morning Daydream (3:40)
Instrumental demo. Lyrics not yet complete.
When this song is done, it will be 80 minutes long.

I mostly enjoyed the second one.
LTCB starts with an awesome riff -->0:11"
but around the 2nd minute I started to get tired...
It has plenty of good elements though : the main riff which slightly differs every time or
the change of atmosphere here and there-->4:44", or -->6:11" when the solo part starts and an awesome minute commence.

I'm not sure if I could recommend you some changes in the composition itself -as it seems to be
a composition concious enough,
but I think the sound of real drums -instead of programming would had it enormously improved

@ Foro: Yes, I usually write complex music when writing alone. When I co-write with other people, the songs get much simpler.

@ no5: Agreed, LTCB has good ideas but needs much more work. I meant to post above that these songs are works in progress - the LTCB above is just a "first draft". But I'm glad you liked some of it.

There will be real drums eventually. I write using MIDI, so my demos are computer-generated.

Ok that's good -it can turn into an awesome number ;
You got one very atmospheric main riff, beautiful lyrics, and some very good ideas into there

A good advise to every musician is : Don't be more complicated than you have to
-and I try to remember it as well when I write music or poetry

The most of the times the simplest way to go from one point to another gives the most beautiful result

You learned that from Maiden, now, didn't you? ;)

From now on I'll be posting my songs on my website: SinisterMinisterX.net.

I've posted four new songs there now:
1. "He Comes"
2. "Mindwarp"
3. "Paradox Of Time"
4. "Sunday Morning Daydream" - the version in the first post in this thread has now grown to 34 minutes long ...

I am seeking lyricists to work with!
If you'd like to help write lyrics to one of the above songs, PM me.
