The Official Book of Souls Tour 2016 Thread (Warning: Spoilers within!)

Have Maiden ever not done multiple UK dates (not just London/England) on an album tour? I don't think they're going to drop that format now.
Not that I know of, but they may have a contract with Live Nation/Download Festival that says they are exclusive to Download for 2016. The initial plan may have been to do an arena tour late this year (like they did after 'A Matter of Life and Death' was released) then do a "field somewhere in England" but Bruce's throat cancer threw that all up in the air.

This great interview with Bruce indicates that either "Run to the Hills" or "The Number of the Beast" (possibly both) could be retired after the next tour. Plus, an old classic that hasn't been played in a good while could be inserted into the setlist:

Bruce did mention that the possible song hasn't been decided on yet, but I would imagine either "Flight of Icarus" or "Stranger in a Strange Land." We shall see!

Omfg, that'd be amazing. I wouldn't mind not hearing Run and Number ever again, and hearing Flight and Stranger live would be tearjerking tbh.

Steve: "You guys know what hasn't been played in a really long time? I bet everyone would be thrilled to hear it once again!"

Everyone else: "What song would that be, Steve?"

Steve: "Wrathchild."

"You're gonna listen to that song, and love it, you buggers! No f..kin complainin' about it!"

"Classic" makes me assume it's not going to be something like Total Eclipse or Sea of Madness

Please let it be Stranger AND Flight !!!
We have no idea what songs it will be. This is something a forum member hoped for. I just want to point this out - we have no information what will be included in this tour with the exception of:

Hallowed is coming back, Empire is not going to be played (sadly), Run to the Hills is not likely to be played, and Iron Maiden will be played.

Just listening to the Jericho podcast and regarding his throat healing and singing for the new tour:

He specifically mentions practicing The Trooper (duh) and If Eternity Should Fail

Not to be overly cynical, but...
...we should consider the possibility that when Bruce says things like "classic we haven't played in ages" or a song that will have everyone saying "they played that! They never play that one!"... he could just be talking about Hallowed or Wrathchild. Maiden's concept of "rare" or having not been played in a "long time" can be slightly dodgy... still, I hope I'm proved wrong come February 2016! :p

Yeah. It's typical Maiden. We haven't done these special songs for a long time.. And then they talk about Wrathchidl and Number of the Beast and stuff like that. I think he might be talking about Hallowed Be Thy Name. It hasn't been played since 2011. But I wonder if he could mean something rarer.. Maybe Bring Your Daughter... to the Slaughter or Children of the Damned.. Maybe Powerslave? I am absolutely certain it won't be something they haven't done in ages. It will be a song they have done live as a six piece.

Weird. I'm absolutely positive it said September 10 earlier today, when I posted that. They've changed the date for some reason.

They've had September 10th for about a week yes, but they postponed it somehow
