The length of time between NEW ORIGINAL albums.

I agree with you. I was slightly disappointed that they only played a few songs from the Final Frontier and played nothing from Matter of Life & Death. I do however think that they took a bold step in not playing Run To The Hills in 2011

If Maiden have showed us anything, it's that they beleive in themselves a hell lot more than other bands, they stay true to their music and always come through, they defy the trends of today and come up with awesome tracks over and over again.

It's impossible to name a Maiden album and not think of an awesome track.

Maiden do what they want to do, always keeping the fans in mind.

They don't play the same amazing tracks over and over because they're scared, they play them for us.

Those two things are different matters.

Yes, they play them for us.
Yes, Nicko farts in eastern direction before he comes on stage.
Yes, Adrian gazes at the skies before he teleports on stage.
Yes, Maiden play the same tracks over and over because they're scared.

All different matters, which can be judged independently from each other.

Even if they are or were scared to play them, I'm sure if majority of fans wanted something played, they would play it.

'Brave New World' - 2000
'Dance Of Death'   - 2003
'A Matter of Life and Death'  - 2006
'The Final Frontier'  - 2010
'Maiden's next NEW ORIGINAL album' - 2015

To be blunt, this disappoints me.

How do you think Metallica and Tool fans feel?

Metallica -

And Justice For All (1988)
TBA (1991)
Load/Reload (1996/1997)
St. Anger (2003)
Death Magnetic (2008)

Tool -

Undertow (1993)
Aenima (1996)
Lateralus (2001)
10,000 Days (2006)

Guns N' Roses - took almost 18 years

Van Halen - it's been almost 14 years

Anyways, Maiden has been releasing albums pretty often compared to many others. You've gotten 4 in the last decade. Do you realize how long Maiden tours for? Do you realize they are all well into their 50's? Do you realize that they have already released 15 studio albums? Just be happy with what you've gotten so far. This isn't the 1970's/1980's where bands release a new album ever 1-2 years. There isn't any money in album sales anymore. The money is on touring and Maiden is a company and that's what they do.

Money is part of the reason? I don't think so. It's just the time off they want.

About Rod saying they won't make another studio album until 2015. Maiden and company are known to make a some statements that end up not being true so it's hard to say if it will really be that long. I just don't see Maiden waiting 5 years for another studio album. I predict 3-4 at the most. Probably another tour next year and then they start working on new material some time in 2013.

Sounds about right.  I hope they tour the US.  I want my boys to see them.
