The length of time between NEW ORIGINAL albums.

I suggest you read the rest of the thread a bit closer.... many of us, probably MOST of us, LOVE the new maiden stuff as much as/more than the old stuff.

However, Rod has said in the official fan club mag that 2015 is the earliest they will be "available" for a studio album.

Which magazine was that? I don't remember this.

Comparisons to the Maiden of the 80's are pointless. This is a very different band now and frankly I think they are better. That Maiden are still together at this point of their lives is fantastic. That they are still one of the biggest bands in the world is astounding. There is just so much to celebrate about Iron Maiden and thankfully, the band are willing to indulge us with classic tours. Now, while I'd prefer to hear new songs and see new tours, I fully understand the need to try to please all fans of all eras of Iron Maiden.

The fact is, we are getting top new albums, top new tours and thoroughly enjoyable classic tours. There really isn't anything more the band can do for the fans and if there was, they would be doing it.

Finally, Maiden work so hard on tour that they do need time to re-charge the batteries. IF we get a new album, it will most likely be their last and if we have to wait a bit longer than usual for it, so be it.

Maiden til I die!!!

I couldn't have put it better myself!  Anyhow it could be worse - Even though they are a great band Metallica have only released 2 Albums of their own original material in 14 YEARS!!!

Is that sure ? I mean, 2015 is rerally late. It seems that Dickinson and Smith have given up the idea of releasing solo albums, and I don't see wha they coul all have in their schedule to take so much time. It's so late !!! It means it would be their last one. Could you please give us the exact quote ?

I don't believe it's correct but I'd like to look it up (verify) if I can.

You don't believe it's correct???
You calling me a liar!?

Seriously tho, Maiden nor Rod would ever come out and pin-point a specific date, because it could kill the joy, the mystery is a great part of the fun which is why we all post
" s - o - i - l - e - r        a - l - e - r - t "
before anything that may "ruin it" for those who might not get the official mag, or latest dvd, interview, etc.

For those of us who love Maiden as our #1 band and read, watch, listen, and drink-in every possible detail all the time, it is obvious what the future plans are.

So, I just thumbed thru a pile of mags (official fan club) and it is clear as day what they are going to do.

If you don't believe me, it doesn't matter for one second. Just enjoy the ride, as ever so slow it may be these days.

Also, watch all of the bonus dvd's like on disc 2 of 'A Matter Of Life' or both 'History of Iron Maiden' interviews and the 'Flight' film, stuff in 'Hit Parader' and 'Metal Edge', etc.
It's all there to keep us super fans going along so we have each little sliver to hold us over and tease us on til the next little piece.

I don't feel bad if you think I'm a wack, because I am one. I once was so absolutely into Maiden that when the next album came out ('No Prayer For The Dying'), I knew what they were going to play before it played, and it was like, "Ok... I think I need to take a little break from the band...".

So I do tend to get a little too close to things and it kind of ruins it for me too. But, they are so cool and good, I almost can't help it.  :halo:

Yes Plissken hit it dead on.
Wish we all felt that way, because I despise coming here (a Maiden "fan" site and have to defend brilliant masterpiece songs such as the awesome 'New Frontier' and 'Gates Of Tomorrow' (NEW Maiden songs, btw)

Just because those songs are unpopular doesn't mean that the entire reunion era catalog is unpopular.

If you despise coming here, don't come here. Nobody's asking you to defend any song by Maiden (or anyone else, for that matter). Quite frankly, more people dislike those songs than like them. I fall into the former category, but I also think "new" Maiden is better than "old" Maiden. I greatly prefer the period starting in 1995 to the period beforehand. I don't think of you as less of a Maiden fan for preferring songs I do not. I might ask you what you see in certain tracks, but I can certainly appreciate that you're allowed to like what you like. If I ask for an explanation, it's because I am looking for a new angle to evaluate from. A new way to open my mind.

Overall, when people come in and say that they have to "defend" certain aspects, it's because they aren't really up-to-date on the culture we try to foster here. We want people to discuss, respectfully. Sometimes that line gets crossed, and it's why we have moderators. But trust me, we aren't trying to force you to hang out here. I don't care if you think Dennis Wilcock was Maiden's best singer and your favourite song is The Apparition - you're welcome to talk and discuss, and share why you loved ol' Den and why you think The Apparition is better than sliced bread. People might share their opinions back (namely, who is Dennis Wilcock and why do you like that boring song, which I think is a piece of trash), but it's never meant to denigrate you.

It's all in the name of discussion.

Seriously Darth Maiden --what the hell are you talking about? Are you and NavigatorsSon the [same] person or something?

These two statements are mildy contradictory. So, no, not a liar; just someone who seems rather loose with the "facts".

Darth Maiden said:
But, no one around here seems to care. Most around here think that Maiden are all washed up and so their thought / belief / motto is: "DUDE!, we're just glad that they still show up to the stage and stagger thru yet another take of 'Run To The Hills', man, it's great! So, shut the *beep* up and stop cryin' about NEW Maiden, cause we just don't believe in them anymore, and we should all just be happy that they still play ANY songs live."

See, no one here cares about NEW Maiden, because they just want to get drunk at a live show and reminisce about the good ol' days.

Cause they are to *beepin* stupid to take ADRIAN's advice and stop "Wasting your time always searching for those wasted years".

You seem upset. Do you want to talk about it?

Since you despise coming here, who would this "us" be referring to? The "fans" here perhaps...

Think what you intended to do was read them.

Like most of your rambling, this appears to be about yourself, again. Do you have to ruin it for everyone else too?

I'm fairly certain Darth Maiden is just trolling with some of his statements, though which are serious and which are the troll I'm not entirely sure.

That's where problems start, when the line is indistinguishable.

As with LC, I prefer "New" maiden to old maiden, but I still quite like old maiden too. If you read my post on the first page you'll see my feelings on the subject.

Not everyone is going to like the same songs, there are many here who love Virus and XFactor, I really really really don't.... there are many who think the Duelists is a work of art in the mid section, I struggle to see why - and likewise I think Dance of Death is awesome but most of them think it's the weakest of the reunion albums.

For the record, I have 7 post2000 tracks in my top10, and that may soon become 8.

I refuse to pick out songs I don't particularly enjoy from the 80's to counter this, latest, stupid fucking attack on this band.

Could he not have picked two better "new" songs, that are "awesome", to term "brilliant masterpiece songs"?  :D

That said, I don't find anything awesome...  :innocent:

Yes, they are. They share the same IP and their posts show considerable parallels.

And since the forum rules state that,

No poster will be allowed to have multiple accounts for the purpose of influencing the general forum attitude, such as making multiple posts to add weigh.

Both NavigatorsSon and Darth Maiden are now banned.

Possible they're brothers or something I suppose

Navigator's seemed to calm down after the first few responses, Darth Maiden seemed to just be hyper throughout. So who knows...

Which proves nothing.

Do a whois query first. If the netblock belongs to ISP then they're indeed a same person. If netblock belongs to some organization, then those could be two people NAT'ed behind the same router.

Not that I'm going to shed any tears over Darth Maiden's quality of posting. Just being fair.
On the subject of Maiden future plans, I still have an unanswered request; can anyone, please, post a link, or a scan, or anything that points to official source speaking about revisiting Maiden England and/or Seventh Son era.

They've played 4 out of 6 originally played tracks during SBiT legs. What remains are two delicate and difficult songs. I don't think they'll suddenly play them, or repeat stuff they just done recently.

Leave it, people. They said that history part 2 will consist exclusively of '84 - '88 stuff. There are various reasons why they didn't proceed as planned, but it's over now. They might release Maiden England on DVD, but they're not going to do a exclusive support tour.

Seriously when was the last time they played Drifter, Foro I'd guess you would know.

It just sounds so awesome on the Sanctuary single.
