Headphones: Sennheiser HD-600 for "neutral", if a bit dark headphone sound, Beyerdynamic 770 pro for more high end.

Do you find the 7-8 kHz peak disturbing? I've got the 880 which was my primary set for years, and use a system eq freeware to even that 8khz peak out. Smooth as butter afterwards.

Yeah it can be a piercing, but you can hear the cymbals. I suppose cymbals are generally low in modern productions, because people tend to listen with hyped top and low end headphones or speakers.
