This is the setlist from Megadave's show in London last night: http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/megadeth/2015/the-sse-arena-wembley-london-england-bf501f6.html

Overall I think it was a really good setlist with a good chunk of classic songs with some 90s in there and, aside from one song from the new album, nothing particularly recent (although there are a few really good Megadeth songs from the last few albums which are among my favourites). It was sheer coincidence that 'Holy Wars' happened to be the final song for this tour in light of what happened on Friday, but so fitting as well. The other guitarist (I've lost track of who the other members are) played the French national anthem before 'Holy Wars' which is probably the first time a room full of English people cheered 'Les Marseillaise'.

It was a very small club? looks like it on this footage. Awesome setlist! They could have thrown in some of the very old stuff, but still awesome. Dave sounds good, he's not always in good vocal shape, but here he is.

EDIT: Oops, wrong show apparently. The footage above is from the Fan club convention in London Friday the 13th

Yeah it was Wembley Arena, which definitely isn't small. I thought Dave sounded a bit rubbish to be honest. He's somewhat quieter than he should be and wasn't helped by the crappy sound at the start of the set. I couldn't hear him properly and I had to pay attention to what the people around me were singing before I realized what the first song was. His voice has been going for a few years now. I noticed the same thing the previous time I saw them two-and-a-half years ago (and yesterday was the seventh time). It was still a really good show though, and I'm not expecting brilliant vocals from a 54 year old Thrash vocalist anyway.

From the same show as @Black Wizard:
Sylosis were a great opening band. Didn't know them before, but really tight, complex heavy stuff.
Children of Bodom were good, but not playing at their absolute best.
Lamb of God were incredible. They won the night. Randy gave a little speech about having played the Bataclan and "they won't make me afraid and they won't make me hate" which struck a chord with the crowd. Awesome show.
I really enjoyed Megadeth. They couldn't top LoG, and some of their visuals were a bit Super Nintendo, but boy, they have the songs.

Lamb of God certainly put on a good performance and they get the crowd going, but they can't hide the fact that their music is shit. To me it seems like it's pretty much written for people to have circle pits to. That sort of music is ok in small doses when I'm in the right mood, but I don't find it particularly interesting. Every song sounded the same to me which is something that can work if the songs are fun and it's possible to singalong to, but if they're just heavy, angry mosh songs then I don't care. They were a better support than some other bands Megdave has taken on tour recently but are quite a big Metal band in their own right and do play some reasonably sized venues. Perhaps Dave overcompensated for the dull support of previous tours.

Great Steve Hackett show this past Friday night, I already mentioned it in the Genesis thread... and I'm excited that Joe Satriani has 2016 tour dates up, I'll likely see him April 6th

Got Anthrax and Slayer this coming Monday night at Brixton Academy, and now I'm getting more and more tempted to see Judas Priest at the same place the next night. Sort of like a two-night mini festival with a day at work in between. Not sure I can handle it at my age though...

It gets tougher for me at 46. Especially when many beers are thrown into the equation. I have a concert this Friday (Baroness) and another one the following Friday (Graveyard) and even THAT even seems like a lot. I wanna drive 2 ½ hours six days after Graveyard to see The Sword, but damn…That seems like “work”.

Do it if you can, I can highly recommend the Priest show. It was my first time seeing Priest on Monday night, and I was very impressed indeed. Absolutely spot-on performance and a decent mix of crowd pleasing favourites and Redeemer of Souls material in the setlist. The venue felt pitifully small for such a 'big' band, really. You'll get Michael Schenker into the bargain, too.

Was Schenker supporting?

I am eager to see Gamma Ray soon. Always a feast with lots of great songs in an enthousiastic and well executed performance.

I have bought a fair amount of tickets lately

July
Smashing Pumpkins/Marilyn Manson

August
Weird Al
maybe Deep Purple, have some scheduling problems
Slayer/King Diamond

September
Van Halen

I saw the King Diamond/Slayer show in Texas. Seen Slayer many times with Jeff H, but this was my first time with Gary Holt. He did a killer job!
This was however my first time to see King Diamond and my expectations were exceeded! The stage, the band, setlist very good (just wish he would play "Burn" from The Eye). I will be seeing him perform Abigail live with Exodus opening next month!

wow I'm far behind on a lot of concert reviews, can't believe I haven't reviewed any since Cheap Trick:eek: well ok, I did post my Blind Guardian review in their thread, but nonetheless, here's a recap of my fall concerts so far, after CT:

9/25: Kashmir- really good, and I got to meet them after the show, was cool to meet Felix from Zebra(he's Kashmir's bassist/keyboardist)

10/8: The Winery Dogs- excellent! I enjoyed the opening band Kicking Harold too

10/14: Collective Soul: really good

10/16: Kansas- excellent!

10/19: The White Buffalo(alt-country artist whose music was used on "Sons of Anarchy")- really good

10/27: Anderson Ponty Band- good, I like their sound, Jon Anderson and Jean LucPonty blend well together

and of course, 11/1: Blind Guardian, see their thread for a review

upcoming:

11/14: Heavens Edge/Britny Fox

11/20: Steve Hackett

11/22: Chris Robinson Brotherhood

11/27: .38 Special

12/11: Get the Led Out

12/31: Third Eye Blind

1/20: Queensryche

Winery Dogs were amazing (my 2nd time to see them)! I also agree about opening band Kicking Harold. The Rush medley at end of great! The babe of a bassist is (I think) according to Twitter Richie K's girlfriend?! Lucky guy if true.

Yeah Symphony X is definitely worth checking out. I may hit a couple of stops on that tour. I like Overkill too. Def Leppard/Styx/Tesla I'm really looking forward to this summer. Alice in Chains as well. They are awesome live. Also Queensryche you can't go wrong. They are always killer. I"ve seen younger people go to casino shows. But I would check with the venue just to make sure.

Saw Overkill few weeks ago in Texas. Blitz vocals at his age are unbelievable! Very happy they brought
Skullcrusher
back to the set! (this is my first time to use a spoiler tag...hope I did it right)

It'll be first time for Priest for me too. The setlist does look too good to miss...
