Oh wow, I'm not even sure I'd be able to reconstruct half of my concertography...

I think the best I could do would be to go to my record collection and say "yep seen them, didn't see them" but as for how many times and what year no chance. And as for bands I seen that I don't have any albums by, or am not a fan of, no chance of remembering most of them.

Maiden however, no problem remembering all of them:lol:

Same. Especially takin festivals into account.

So I was due to see The Mary Wallopers in Belfast tonight and maybe tomorrow night. Covid killed it.
They had their Irish gigs cancelled due to new covid restrictions in the south so they added a second date in Belfast and a mate of mine constructed a covered venue in his garden where they were due to play after the Friday gig, promising tunes til the morning light. Then the band tested positive for covid. Disappointed to say the least.

I am so sad that I have an Excel spreadsheet with all the gigs I have been to, with different sheets for the different years, and information about ticket prices.

Unsurprisingly, the year with least gigs attended since 1991 was 2020. Just one concert: The Classic Rock Show 2020.

Maiden is obviously no problem:

No gigs in 2020 or 21 for me

I have been to a few gigs since September this year: Stray+Martin Turner ex-Wishbone Ash, Fascinating Aïda, Low Hummer+Manic Street Preachers, The Waterboys, Billy Bragg, and Massive Wagons+The Darkness.

Best gig of them all was Manic Street Preachers. Superb gig, superb band.

Katatonia have just postponed their early 2022 European tour to 2023, covid and covid restrictions being the concern. Suits me, I suppose, because their nearest date clashed with Paradise Lost in February, who I already have tickets to see. Let's see if the PL still goes ahead. Just got my tickets through the post for that.

I think all European tours criss-crossing countries taking place from January to April 2022 will probably be postponed/cancelled. Too risky with different restrictions in different countries.

Got a lot of concerts on deck for 2022. :)

2/18/22 Ghost @ Allstate Arena, Rosemont, IL
2/20/22 Dream Theater @ The Chicago Theatre, Chicago, IL
2/26/22 Foo Fighters @ Innings Festival, Tempe, AZ
5/19/22 Symphony X and Haken @ Park West, Chicago IL
7/9/22 Rage Against The Machine @ Alpine Valley Music Theatre, East Troy, WI
10/5/22 Iron Maiden @ United Center, Chicago, IL

I'm also strongly considering seeing Red Hot Chili Peppers in August.

Next gig would be either Tony MacAlpine in Guildford or Van der Graaf Generator in London in February 2022. I've had a ticket for the Van der Graaf Generator gig since 2020... Fingers crossed both gigs can go ahead!

So it seems that Tony MacAlpine's gig in Guildford in February has been cancelled.

Next gig should be Van der Graaf Generator in London in February 2022, assuming it does not get postponed again.

You guys are seriously brave. There's no way in hell I'm cramming into anywhere for a concert with this pandemic, let alone for anything else. And when you have so many people gathering, theres far higher chances of more careless idiots showing up. As much as I miss concerts, in my mind its not worth the risk.

So, I will instead wish you all good fortune and health, and pray for your well being.

Seriously, though, this pandemic needs to end I miss great concerts.

Powerglove just announced an Ottawa concert. I'll be considering it, but won't make a ticket purchase for a couple months yet.

Until then, my concert lineup is:

Jul 22 - Iron Maiden feat. The Hellacopters, Airbourne @ Ullevi Stadium, Gothenburg, Sweden
Oct 15 - Iron Maiden feat. Within Temptation @ Canadian Tire Centre, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

I don't think I'll get to Paradise Lost next month. :( Work have blocked out all Saturdays for the forseeable future so I can't get time off. I could possibly leave early but it'll be a hassle to get to Newcastle in time

They're not. It's surprising, but that's completely legal. If people go sick they tend to stay off for a long time because it's the periods of sickness that are punished, not the length of absence

My work also has the same but way more than 3 periods and its over 12 months not 18. And covid related absences are not counted against it. Not that Im a company man, not at all, fuck the system and all that but I wouldn't last 6 months in your place!
