I just watched the Beckett Old Grey Whistle Test videos. The best bit is in the second one when the presenter (a very well spoken man) says "see you next Tuesday" before introducing Beckett at the end of the show.

The whole issue has been solved. Here's footage of Lester and Eliza meeting Rod after they discovered that Beckett is just a rip off of the playright Samuel Beckett's name.
