ok guys, whats the 1st MAIDEN album you bought, and what made you buy it,
(this doesnt include edward the great, you can use it in you're reason though)

ok then, i will go 1st

my 1st maiden album was fear of the dark, i bought this because, i had gta:vice city, and 2 minites was on the "radio" this made me go out and buy ed the great, i loved the live version of fear of the dark (in RiR) i went out and bought it!

Do Live Albums count?

If yes then the first album i bought was Rock In Rio. I bought this because i heard run to the hills on this air guitar album. I thought it was good and I wanted hear some other songs. If not then i got iron maiden as a present. Mainly because i wanted to hear sanctuary and charlot the harlot.

I'd heard from a lot of friends that Iron Maiden were great so i thought i'd give them a try, my first album being number of the beast. I was blown away by this album and a week later on a trip to London i picked up 3 other maiden albums from a record store.

The first album I bought with my own money was Fear of the Dark, the day of its realease.
I had the others album (except 7th Son ), but it was my brother who bought them.

My first album was Brave New Album, it was a present from my brother as a present for St. Nicholas (my name is Michael-Nicholas [!--emo&:)--][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/smile.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'smile.gif\' /][!--endemo--] )

The first album I bought was Brave New World. I heard it at my friends house and loved it.

the first album I bought on my own was Virtual XI, but I remember well when my brother bought FOTD when it came out, and how I peeved my dad to buy X Factor (which he did eventually). It's fun being raised as a Metalhead [!--emo&:D--][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/biggrin.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'biggrin.gif\' /][!--endemo--]

Live After Death, because I loved the cover artwork and was interested in Maiden from having listened to other people's Maiden albums. The first five albums came next (I don't remember the order) and I've kept up with the new releases since SiT.

Best of the Beast 16 song edition, Powerslave, and then Rock in Rio...and the collection keeps growing! (Like the Commentary, except I've never been mauled by my Maiden CDs)

One day I went to the record store and I didn't know what to buy. I decided to buy Maiden's new album Dance Of Death to see what they are like. I had already listened to Fear Of The Dark (the song) and I had got hooked with it. I got hooked with some songs from Dance Of Death too and then I got all the albums. I think we all have. The Commentary is a scary beast of knowledge, and sometimes Maverick just can't keep it contained.

Back in those days I was in Jr. High (grades 6-8) and didn't really "buy" my music. More to the point I stole it.

The first Maiden tape (no CD's back then, at least not on the mass market) I "owned" was Powerslave. Why did I get it? Right place right time. It was within easy reach when I had an opportunity. It actually took awhile for it to grow on me. I recall not listining to the whole tape for two or three weeks after I got it because it didn't strike my fancy. But after listening to some of the better songs a few times (Flash of the Blade, The Duelist) the whole Maiden way of music grew on me. Boy did it. Powerslave was followed by Piece of Mind and Children of the Damned. And Maiden was a gateway band to other Heavy Metal groups (Dio, Saxon, Priest among others). The rest is ancient history (like any of this is current).

P.S. Before you flame me into oblivion please know that except for the original three listed above I have paid for all my Maiden music and memorbilia, replaced the tapes with CD's. Had I not lifted that first one at least I probably never would've gotten into Maiden since none of my friends liked metal (one guy actually loved Michael Jackson, if you can believe that [!--emo&--][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/blink.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'blink.gif\' /][!--endemo--] Although he came around eventually and thinks Number of the Beast is the best song ever written).

My first album was 7th son of a 7th son. A friend of mine had all the albums, and i picked that one as my favourite. But of course my collection is now (allmost) complete. Very hard to get hold of The Soundhouse Tapes when you live in Norway.........

The first album I bought myself was a used LP copy of 'Iron Maiden'. I had copies of NOTB and BNW before that though.
