I am on it! Almost done. The problem is again 2009 and 2010. Right now I have bands in these years that I have already used. I can only solve this by selecting hardly known albums on one or two positions. To be continued.
 
I see your problem with 2010. I had massive difficulty finding something, because that was the year I paid the very least attention to new album releases. I think I didn't even buy a single new record that year. Except for British Lion and Final Frontier. 2009 on the other hand was one of the best years for metal releases ever.
 
British Lion is from 2012.

I have searched on the net for 2009 but couldn't find much appealing. Or something known even. In that year I was much more busy with collecting jazz CD's, so I sure might have ignored stuff.

Quest will continue. I'll also see if I can puzzle a bit more. The list is very different from my other one, you'll see. :) It's not possible to do this extra rule and select the best albums for every band, so I let that go.
 
2009... I listened to Black Gives Way To Blue by Alice in Chains quite a lot that year. Heaven and Hell - The Devil You Know was also a good album. The Them Crooked Vultures supergroup with Dave Grohl, Josh Homme and John Paul Jones (Led Zeppelin bassist) also released their only album that year. A good hard rock album! And Vektor - Black Future!

 
I'm also struggling with 2009 for whatever reason. 2010 has my favourite album of the past decade, so that one's easy.
