News Run For Your Lives World Tour 2026 Rumours and Speculation

The Knebworth flop is on Iron Maiden's management only. They didn't overestimate the demand, they overestimated how crazy their fans are. All of this could've been avoided by:

  • Announcing Knebworth from the London Stadium stage (they already knew they were doing that show). They would've taken advantage of the hype and would've been the first to put tickets on sale. Having MCR, SOAD and Metallica playing in London around the same time probably killed the sales.

  • Announcing there would be changes to the setlist. The whole Infinite Dreams situation feels like a last-minute decision (probably to boost ticket sales for the tour), but they could've made up their minds before the first press relase went online.

  • Having everything figured out BEFORE the announcement. Is it a festival? Then you either need a lot of bands or 4/5 acts that can actually move tickets. Is it a normal show? Then just make it a one-night-only event like every other show.

  • Lowering the prices (if they didn't intend to book major support acts). Knebworth is probably the cheapest option they could've chosen for an event like this. Of course, having the show at Hyde Park would've probably meant better sales, but also higher expenses. Meaning that there is very little reason to charge even more than a stadium in one of the biggest and most active stadium of the country.
 
Adrian said that Infinite Dreams was in the list of songs for this tour. Some others might have been also. They left some songs out and maybe they make some changes now. I know it's not a typical Maiden thing, but they have to, if they want to sell more tickets.
The setlist isn't the only Knebworth problem, but a change or two will boost ticket sales a bit. Songs like Daughter, Revelations, Infinite Dreams, Evil, Running Free were definitely on that list. Personally, I don't think a change or two will increase ticket sales by a lot, but they have to try it. Most of the die hard fans will go anyway and I don't think Infinite Dreams is enough to persuade the general audience

When did he say infinite dreams was on a list? First news. Lets see if they change anything. And maybe they play alexander. The others tour wasnt even rehearsed but now its recent
 
Regarding Eddfest, I am genuinely curious about how the whole Infinite Dreams experience is going to work. According to the website,

The Infinite Dreams experience is a walkthrough museum covering 50 years of Maiden’s history, bringing the Iron Maiden Infinite Dreams book to life. This is once in a lifetime chance to see artefacts, props and even instruments up close making it the ultimate fan event.

Let’s assume they get 50000 people at the gig. Will there be a queueing system? I mean, seeing Mona Lisa in Le Louvre requires some patience, so I cannot imagine how long the waiting times at this Infinite Dreams experience are going to be!
 
If they play the same setlist at Knebworth, this Infinite Dreams experience might be the only reason for some fans to attend the festival. So, I guess there will be a massive queue
 
Changing setlist would maybe even boost live album sales as it will be released in late 2026 or early/mid 2027. If I exclude myself and others who'll buy anything Maiden releases, there are only 3-4 songs worth buying this live album for.

Maybe you get a time slot when you enter and then there's a few open slots in between. I imagine there's a tent and a path to follow with displays. Maybe a 10 minute walk through tops.

I wanted to touch on the new Iron Maiden Book 'Infinite Dreams'; firstly, with that title, why is 'Infinite Dreams' not in the 'Run For Your Lives' set list?
Yeah, good question! I think it was pencilled in. It was pencilled in. We were going to do it, but for some reason, I don't know why we didn't end up doing it. I don't know why. That's interesting, yeah, the whole big 50th anniversary book, and then we don't do the song [laughing], but I mean, Maiden has got so many songs, it's just hard to cover everything.

Organising time slots for 50000 people is going to be a logistical nightmare.

Going back to my original reference to Mona Lisa, the number of daily visitors at Le Louvre is capped at 30000. Perhaps that’s the cap at Knebworth too! :lol:

Only way I could see it being done is like a glorified theme park ride queue/old school walk-through attraction/haunted house; everyones corraled through it at a slow pace and instead of ride themeing/scares its full of cool maiden stuff that you get a decent glance at & can point and go "Woah look its the Somewhere On Tour big eddie head!"
 
So, the 2 songs that were the closest to be included in last year's setlist and didn't make it, were Running Free and Infinite Dreams. So, these 2 must be the likeliest additions for this year.
