News Run For Your Lives World Tour 2026 Rumours and Speculation

Interviewed aboard the Monsters of Rock Cruise where he is playing with side project British Lion, 70-year-old Harris said: “It seems like next year Maiden are not going to do, if anything… anything at all.

“So I might go out and do some festivals next year with British Lion. When I get back with the lads, the Maiden lads that is, I just want to make sure that that is what everyone wants – to take the year off."
“It seems like it is but I just wanted to double check that everyone is up for that. I mean, I wasn’t particularly, so we’ll see if there’s any others that…
I just think at our age you’ve got to keep going. I’m scared to stop, if I’m honest. But we’ll see. It looks like we’re going to take the year off and if that’s the case, I don’t want to sit around twiddling my thumbs.”

Change of mind in 2027 perhaps?

See the interview thread.
I just had this idea:
The announcement of the 2027 tour hiatus was always just a marketing ploy to sell more tickets.
Now they need to start laying the groundwork for backtracking.
Here in the forum, some people always mention how far in advance a tour has to be organized, about 1.5 years.
Then it’s naive to think they’d just sit down in the summer and decide on a Maiden tour for 2027.

Not all tours are booked that far in advance, bands change course and do last minute runs of dates all the time, they would have no issues booking a European Summer Festival tour next year, adding a few dates in between.
If they did decide to do shows next year it would be the exact same stage production which would make it even simpler for them.

Maybe they are talking about recording?

It must be somewhere in this forum, because I'm sure I read a quote here from a festival organizer who wanted to book Maiden about a year before the festival, and Rod replied that a Maiden tour is usually already set by that point.

Maiden's tours are usually planned way in advance, altough final details and some dates could be subject to change until last minute (that's why some shows gets announced later or never, like Pula).
They're taking a break in 2027 indeed. Aside from the fact people in the know have no knowledge of any Maiden shows happening next year, a third leg of this tour (can't be anything different unless they use the same exact production) would be a commercial failure and would completely destroy the demand for a 2028 tour.

I think since reunion the planed like years in advance album + tour, dvd + historic tour. But now its just if we all want and can ,we tour. So they plan what to do next year. I mean 1 year off for people at their age is not the same like when they were young.

It doesn't have anything to do with their age, it's simply logistical. Most band that size plans tour that far in advance.

Bruce is going to have a really busy year in 2027, album release and a tour that will cover Europe, North and South America. I'm sure Adrian will be kept busy with his project, Steve will end up doing something with BL. Dave and Janick will be fine with a year off.
