That was not all that Nomadd said. I obviously don't agree with the claims about Rod, but it's also true that Sharon played a big role for Ozzy for the last 30 or so years.

The posts I quoted of Shadow did not talk about Rod or Sharon, they strawmanned Nomadd's position about Maiden's fame and popularity. I have no issue with people calling each other out (he said, right after calling Shadow out lol) but I also think you can do that by engaging with the position, not by mocking a weird strawman of it.

Not talking about their music. Sabbath is absolutely more well known in the mainstream than Maiden. As in, more people have heard the name "Black Sabbath" at some point in their lives, than "Iron Maiden". Iron Man and Paranoid, among other songs, have been in multiple movies and TV shows over the years. If we wanna talk Spotifiy, Paranoid (the song) has over one-and-a-half billion streams. Maiden's top streamed song is The Trooper with 590 million. In other words, Paranoid has more than 2.5 times the streams of The Trooper.

We all love Maiden here, but you're delusional if you think they are better known than Black Fucking Sabbath. You were so eager to dunk on Nomadd, that you apparently slipped into a bizarre parallel universe where facts don't matter anymore.

In the mainstream audience - yes, Maiden has never care about that, just compare record sales, merch sales, and ticket sales (tours). Honestly, Maiden is way over the Sabbath. Most people just know Paranoid and Ozzy from his tricks, addictions, and Celebrity TV. At the end of the day amount of tickets sold speaks.

You are constantly speculating terrible sales for Maiden, telling everyone that they risk having to downgrade their venue size or play to half empty venues…..and then literally days later we find Maiden adding dates and you say nothing, you just move on to your next dooms day ranting without acknowledging how wrong you have been.

That is not a debate, it is someone with an obsession ranting and raving for some reason. Did Rod not give you a job or something?

A sensible debate would be more grounded in reality - like wondering why Maiden think they could fill Knebworth in 2026 when they couldn’t sell out Twickenham in 2025.

But there is no nuance with you…..it is always doom and gloom and you are so often spectacularly wrong.

Anyway, what news of Lima sales? I was able to buy a front area standing ticket a few days ago. Usually this is the first area to sell out. I'm surprised. Not scared, just surprised.

Promoters aren't expecting a sold out, but it should be their biggest show in the country.
Right now sales are basically non-existing, but I'm sure it's one of those markets where they pick up closer to show day
 
Here in South America, while 'Ozzy' is a bigger name for non-metalheads, I think Maiden draw bigger crowds than Sabbath/Ozzy. I would say southeastern europe is similar. I also think that, at least in Brazil, the brand 'Iron Maiden' is bigger than 'Black Sabbath'. It's just that Ozzy is Ozzy and everyone knows him, which isn't the case at all for Steve and Bruce.

This is sounding a lot like the Metallica debate. Ozzy as a brand is waaaay bigger than Maiden could ever hope to be..but it has nothing to do with music.

And, yeah, it's fair to say that's on Sharon's management. But what I'm struggling to see is why that would be considered a good thing. Fair enough if money and fame is your end goal but I suspect most Sabbath fans would have preferred Ozzy and Sabbath focused on making music instead of headlines.

But as I'm saying, at least on my personal experience in Brazil, it doesn't compare. Metallica is indeed way bigger than Maiden and their hits are more well known, but here, while the Ozzy brand is bigger, I'd argue FOTD and The Trooper are more well known than Paranoid or Crazy Train, for example. I know that isn't the case specially in the US but also UK and probably most of western europe, but here (and probably the rest of SA as well) they are in fact similar if we talk about song popularity. Metallica is in another level compared to both.

Granted, this obviously has to do with the fact that Sabbath came here like only in '92 with Dio and then 2013 and 2016 (and played smaller venues than Maiden usually does). I think they also came as H&H but playing in places for less than 10k people. Maiden has come here on all tours since FOTD except for a few summer tours and also went to big cities outside of the most famous ones.
