RUN FOR YOUR LIVES WORLD TOUR (2025/2026)

Oh no... at least I hope the set to be 18 songs. Sanctuary is most likely confirmed now. And they'll probably pair it with Running Free. Well, Dave said ''pub days'' songs after all. The question is - will it be a possible opener (I doubt it) or the usual encore from the 80's with Run To The Hills.
McMurtrie posted a picture with "Not long now" on the subtitles and Killers playing.

Killers is a must for this tour, now is the perfect time. Let's hope so it's a hint. I mean, the poster.
I hope the Flight of Icarus photo is a hint too!
I love the song, but now I prefer something different (and from the album). Icarus staging during LOTB was top. It, Running, Sanctuary... not cool for me. I prefer Prowler and Wrathchild much more.
Maybe they'll open with Sanctuary? They did that in the pub days, maybe not in 76-77, but in 79 I think that was their opener.
Yeah, but will it have the ''wow'' effect that Bruce talked about.
Ιf this is the encore, they might actually play a 17-18 song setlist. Too many shorter songs. It could be the Clairvoyant instead of Evil, but that's almost the same or Hallowed instead of Evil, but then Clairvoyand or/and Evil will be played earlier.
Agreed. And let's hope they won't compensate the setlist with the new stage show, I really hope so.

There's the video of Hallowed from a few years ago where Janick's rhythm patch amp failed, so he went off stage to sort with his tech, and H ended up playing the solo. Jan's solo patch worked so he also played it anyway, but it was SO cool to see H play the Hallowed solo again.

It does make me wonder now though, as this set will be comprised of a large percentage of songs that were originally just Davey & Adrian, - I wonder if Jan will take more solos of Dennis' from any 1st album tracks they might play, even if H has done previously (during reunion era), so that we can finally hear H play some of his iconic mid-80s solos that Jan has being doing since reunion. Revelations, Hallowed, Heaven Can Wait ( I know possibly unlikely to hear after being on TFP tour) , Moonchild (I think H did the solo on M.E tour, but Jan did it on SBIT if I remember correctly?).. Maybe some others I can't think of?
Yeah. I don't think they'll rotate the Hallowed solo because Janick might not have many solos again. Possible songs for him to play the solo (besides the 90's songs): Phantom, Sanctuary(?), Hallowed, Trooper(double solo), Revelations(I don't think they will play it), Boots(?), Moonchild, Evil(double solo). A second 90's song is needed. Adrian's solos are the stuff, but I like some of Janick's renditions.
He did that anyway on the Legacy tour, he sings it one or two times in total
He rarely did this before, right. It's normal.
Some tour t shirts will be available to order from the official store very soon.
And I wonder if they will do like in 2023, and hold back a design until the second show to avoid spoilers.
Maybe once again a Dan Mumford design? Mariner/Phantom could be really cool. I think Phantom of the Opera could be a great theme for Mumford to work with.
Of course, it's become like a tradition. Rime, Phantom... a lot are possible, being surprises or not. Infinite, Hills, Hallowed, Powerslave, Trooper, Seventh Son, Land, Killers, Boots, Running Free/Sanctuary, 2 Minutes, Evil, Clairvoyant and any 90's song, including Fear.

Closing with Prowler would be cool too!

However, I think that Flight of Icarus absolutely deserves to be played live again. It's one of those shorter 80's classics that fit the current groove of the band perfectly, Bruce's mature voice & style of vocal delivery works just fine for it and overall, while it was in the set for the whole, gigantic Legacy of the Beast run of 2018, 2019 & 2022, I think it would be a terrible waste to bring it back for one (or shall we say one and a half, if we want to consider 2022 as bit of an oddity) tour only.

We shall see! I'm not saying it will be played, but I'm very happy if its on the cards.

Steve hates it so I doubt it.

I don't get the Gangland hate. One of the best Burr drum intros, super aggressive vocal melodies in the first bit, great bridge (post-chorus) vocals (starting with the part "Once you were glad..."), the riffs, the leads, the harmonic guitars before the leads, interesting lyrical content, the overall jazzy groove, screaming end... Ok I get it, some may find the chorus weird. But you know many great Maiden classics doesn't even have a chorus. And in many Maiden hits the chorus isn't the peak of the song.

Check Dream Theater's jazzy Gangland cover to get the potential in this gem. And I must add: Adrian loves the song :)

There's one oddity in Gangland that could easily be fixed in a live setting: The missing solo. They legitimately forgot to record it in time for the album, but that's something they can simply add to the live version.

Not that I think that they'll ever revisit this song, but it would make it more interesting.

Has the possibility of Maiden bringing a live orchestra on the road this year been mentionned already? That would certainly blow people's mind and be something the band has never done before. I'd love that for sure.

I like that bit too, they accidently broke the formula there. But hearing the possible lead would be great of course, in a live version. (This is just a fantasy)

Quoted for truth.

It's just a matter of taste. The chorus and the general tempo of the song don't appeal to me. And the way the drum beats accompany the vocals is also a bit odd. Considering the exceptional level of all the other songs on the album (except Invaders, which is great, but not a masterpiece), I think Gangland just doesn't fit.

There is less than 20 days to this tour so I'll give my final setlist prediction based on interviews, tour poster, "hints" and music they've been putting in videos promoting this tour and merch for it:
1. Be quick or be dead (since 1993) (idk, just makes sense to me to open with this one)
2. Die with your boots on (since 2005) (reasonable deep cut to be played)
3. The trooper (no explanation)
4. Killers (since 1999) (tour poster)
5. Infinite dreams (since 1988) (makes sense to me as book is of the same name)
6. Phantom of the opera (since 2014) (teased in opening video)
7. Powerslave (since 2017) (Bruce hinted it in an interview as he "has to find a new bird mask")
8. Total eclipse (since 1982) (realised as a single 3 years ago + sky on the poster)
9. Deja Vu (live premiere) (can't really defend this one other than being a one out of 3 SIT songs not played on FPT and a never before played track)
10. Hallowed be Thy name (since 2022) (not played on previous tour)
11. The number of the beast (since 2022) (not played on previous tour)
12. Fear of the dark (no explanation)
13. Iron maiden (no explanation)
*encore 1*
14. Bring your daughter... to the slaughter (since 2003) (only logic option from NPFTD to be played live)
15. Running free (since 2013) (it's on the merch)
16. Sanctuary (since 2014) (music for the merch video)
*encore 2*
17. Run to the hills (since 2022) (ofc)
Maybe not so interesting setlist, but songs that we consider "often played" are actually not being played for over 10 years, so yeah...
Idk how realistic this setlist is, I'm open for more deep cuts like prodigal son, sun and steel, to tame a land, rime of the ancient mariner, sea of madness, seventh son of a seventh son, only the good die young, any NPFTD track and afraid to shoot strangers. Any of these are possible for being played in my opinion, would be greatful for seeing any other ones ofc.

They could even give Janice the missing solo if they wanted lol
