RUN FOR YOUR LIVES WORLD TOUR (2025/2026)

From the musicians' perspective, it's their job to play the music. As long as the checks clear, I'm sure they're happy. I don't think Dave's sitting in Hawaii in December going "We really ought to be re-inventing the wheel right now."
Dave: "We really need something fresh for the new album, it might be the last, you know?"
Steve: "Oh? Do you have anything in mind?"
Dave: "How about a song that starts with clean guitars?"
Steve: "I'm all ears!"
Dave: "And I play a distorted solo over that!"
Steve: "Bloody brilliant!"

As much as I like joking about Rod Smallwood and Maiden's cheapskate behavior, I will always admit that he is a great manager, and the strategy they came up with after the reunion worked. It's easy to compare Maiden with the 'biggest' rock bands and find faults (mind you, except for Metallica, most of those are rock, not metal, and this attracts a bigger crowd, as somebody else has said). But if you compare them with their peers, who either started at the same time or swam in the same pool for years (Judas Priest, Motörhead, Saxon, Helloween), Maiden are light years ahead. I think the New/Old tour works, and although it started in 1999, I believe it was the 2006-2009 period when they perfected it, got thumbs up from both critics and fans, and made a name for themselves in the general population.

In other news, since there was a talk about thousands of tickets, I went to check each date and here's what I got (I do check the tour page daily since I'm still looking for Bratislava ticket, any section. If anybody has spare to sell - PM me).

Out of the 32 announced dates, 18 are sold out (when those 37 Norwegians come to their senses). I didn’t count VIP tickets or hospitality tickets, nor did I include resale tickets since those were already bought. This means 14 dates are still available. Three of these are festivals (one of which sold out its day tickets on the days Maiden are playing). I still went ahead and checked ticket agency sites and came up with this:

It goes without saying that I don't know how much of those standing tickets are sold/availible.
Also, it was a bittersweet experience going through all these pages and seeing Maiden line-up with Nicko.
Also, also - I doubt Maiden will rehearse in Split again (the venue they used last two times has some dates in late April).

When i say they use the same stage form 25 years i dont complain. Its like their trademark the backdrops and decoration.

BTW, all the talks about Rod being a bad manager make no sense. Maiden is probably the less commercial Metal band ever. Not just because of their music but also due to the way they approach things. Yet, they're still getting bigger year after year and most importantly they became bigger than ever AFTER they went rock bottom (in terms of popularity). I can't think of many other bands which have done that.

Rod is a genius and I'm sure he knows that if he would follow the standard guidelines Maiden could surpass any other Metal band. But he's probably okay with that.

Absolutely great data. Most of the shows are on the way to be sold out in the end. Paris, Berlin, Warsaw, Arnhem, Gelsenkirchen, Stockholm, Vienna, probably Italy too. In Bremen they've increased capacity. The festival shows are on the "Sold Out" way.

He should know how to use the documentary premiere to increase band popularity in fact. Being honest, from the music market point of view there's no other traditional metal band with so many achievements with ticket/merch/record sales as Maiden. Probably it was Rod's main goal. I don't count in that Metallica 'cos they are pure mainstream rock band.

At this point you're just proving that you don't know what you're talking about: one day you blame Rod for Maiden's (non-existing) flops and one day you (rightfully) praise him.

Show that could come close but not sell out are Paris 2, Padova and Gelsenkirchen.

The rest will easily sell out in the coming months.

It really just seems that they are aiming the documentary release at the same time as announcing the North American leg of the tour tour, because they strictly do not need that buzz in Europe hence the 1st leg ticket sales. They will try to make it as big as they can in the US is my guess.

At this point you're just proving that you don't know what you're talking about: one day you blame Rod for Maiden's (non-existing) flops and one day you (rightfully) praise him.
I'm not an expert, but I think Rod should care more about IM activity (and generally presence) in the mainstream media.

Agree 100%. Look how they got bigger since 99 reunion tour till now. And yes their albums are all maiden sound they could have changes but always sounding maiden

I've been listening to the Powerslave album on repeat lately and every time I listen to the title track, I think that it should be played in this tour. It's one of those songs that can look really grande with props/lights/backdrops/screens anything.

the lack of pyramids in the artwork makes me think it won't be played

One of their alltime greatest! Favourite part the slow instrumental section with the melodic Dave picking and awesome bass lines followed by Dave´s solo. Pure brilliance. Basically minute 3 to 5 of Powerslave is pure excitement.
