Run For Your Lives! Setlist speculation thread

Can you write what do you think each represents?

Also that's the Prophet Eddie in Killers pose and that should be a hint.
Debut: Lamp and Moon
Killers: hand pose and axe with blood
TNOTB: The white shirt
Piece of Mind: Mouth
Powerslave: The square windows in the ruins and the color of the lamp (yellow with a bit of blue)
Somewhere in Time: Cyborg eye, wires in fingers
SSoaSS: Neck implant
Fear of the Dark: twigs growing out of Eddie's shoulder
Senjutsu: Asian/Japanese building in background
Eddie's left eye appears on countless album covers

I think it's going to be a mish mash of songs from the Early Days tour and SBIT. You have to wonder if they'd open with Another Life again.

After the Paul and Nicko news I think the setlist could be a bit different than what I expected. I think "Remeber tommorow" will be included for Paul and also songs like Aces High, Be Quick or be Dead etc have more of a chance to be included now without Nicko. Also, Still Life could be included for Nicko and I'd love that.

I was also thinking if RT has any real chances of being included. They might go all in and make Where Eagles Dare the Nicko bit. He might even show up during London Stadium's gig, just for that song.

I think their initial plans (if they had any) for the setlist might change now. Although we know which songs to expect because of the theme and with the new drummer. You know, songs like Remember Tomorrow, Be Quick, Killers, Infinite Dreams... doubt about Eagles or Aces.
The tour better not be close to SBIT (or ME, although there are chances for that), something like Early Days (not sure, more like TEH) and the 1993 tour. It has to be unique and with the right 5 songs it is possible. Let's see, but with Nicko they could have been more adventurous, although they can do it ofc. I feel they will make a good mix of all previous Hits/History tours plus some surprises.

Early Days: 5 songs at most.
Classics/Hits: 5-7 songs.
90's songs: at least 3 songs.
deep cuts: at least 3 songs.

Something like that.

I've changed my mind from my initial thoughts, that the set was going to be more directed to NPFTD and FOTD. Now, I think they're going to priorize the first three records. Here are my bets:

Murders In The Rue Morgue
Wrathchild
Phantom Of The Opera
The Trooper
Afraid To Shoot Strangers
The Clairvoyant
Rime Of The Ancient Mariner
Heaven Can Wait
Bring Your Daughter...To The Slaughter
The Number Of The Beast
Fear Of The Dark
Iron Maiden

Hallowed Be Thy Name
Killers
Run To The Hills

I have a feeling too that they will prioritize the first 3 albums and especially the 3rd one. I think it's possible to have 4 TNOTB songs. 3 are 100% included IMO. 666, Run to the Hills, Hallowed. Then, they might do Children if they want to slow it down a bit or Acacia.
I also think that there won't be any 90s songs except FOTD and maybe Bring Your Daughter or Be Quick. It's difficult to predict really, so many hits and deeper cuts that the fans want to see live. Every week or month, my setlist prediction changes. The only certain IMO is that 3+ TNOTB songs will be included.

As Bruce states they will play song(s) for 1st time, my prediction is one of the following:

Prodigal Son (as a tribute to Paul)
Flash of the Blade
The Duellists
Mother Russia

Yes mate I’d bet the same thing, I think that other songs that I predict will be played for the first time for next tour are Only the Good Die Young, The Prophecy and Judas Be My Guide, Prodigal Son would be awesome!

Someone has probably suggested this.

I saw Sleep Token recently and they played songs essentially from oldest to newest ((in terms of albums) and I am sure this is what Taylor Swift did as well)). I was talking to a friend about this for if Maiden were to a chronological setlist.

There is some fan-fiction in here whilst keeping it with mainly classics
  1. Phantom of the Opera (IM)
  2. Iron maiden (IM)
  3. Ides of March/Wrathchild (K)
  4. Killers (K)
  5. Number of the Beast (NOTB)
  6. Run to the Hills (NOTB)
  7. Hallowed by thy Name (NOTB)
  8. Trooper (POM)
  9. Revelations (POM)
  10. 2 mins to midnight (PS)
  11. Rime of the Ancient Mariner (PS)
  12. Alexander the Great (SIT)
  13. Moonchild (SSOASS)
  14. Only the good die young (SSOASS)
  15. Bring your daughter (NPFTD)
  16. Fear of the Dark (FOTD)

Phantom - basing it that they can play the intro on tape and was in the trailer.
Rime - has been spoken about.
Alex - if they only keep one from CSIT, why not this.
Moonchild/OTGDY combo could have the acoustic bookend and either be the start of the encore or the end of the main set as OTGDY has that rock and roll ending.
BYDTTS - it is a Maiden song that my non-Maiden friends know well so surely it is a slam dunk from NPFTD. It is also a good encore song.
Finishing with FOTD is a bit weird due to the outro but it is a hype song so could be good for last

Ok here's my prediction.
  1. Be Quick or Be Dead
  2. 2 Minutes to Midnight
  3. Killers
  4. Bring Your Daughter to the Slaughter
  5. Seventh Son of a Seventh Son
  6. Only the Good Die Young
  7. The Trooper
  8. Wasted Years
  9. Rime of the Ancient Mariner
  10. Phantom of the Opera
  11. Number of the Beast
  12. Fear of the Dark
  13. Iron Maiden
  14. The Evil That Men Do
  15. Hallowed Be Thy Name
  16. Run To The Hills

The parts I'm struggling with are:

What do they play from Somewhere In Time?
They've just covered it well with TFPT, I don't think they're going to relearn anything from it so we're likely getting a repeat of something from the last tour. I don't think Alex/Stranger/CSIT are likely. Wasted Years is an easy one, a crowd pleaser and relatively short.

What do they play from No Prayer For The Dying?
I honestly think they're not likely to play ANYTHING from this. But the press release does say "spanning the nine studio albums" so I'm taking a punt that they're going to cover EVERY album. If they don't do this then you could also drop Wasted Years and suddenly you've got 2 slots available that could be filled with ANYTHING! (Though it would likely be Wrathchild!)

I'm pretty sure Run to the Hills will be the closer.

I reckon the fan deep cut is Only The Good Die Young. And the return of Rime and Seventh Son would be really welcome too.

I'm pretty sure Run to the Hills will be the closer.

That's rather likely, yeah (unless Running Free will be played). I kind of wish that since Run to the Hills is pretty much guaranteed, it would be played somewhere earlier in the set. Bruce has had tough time with The Trooper in the encore, but as a setlist move, I think it's been pretty fresh to have it there after a long while. With more or less the same logic, I think it would be a good move to position Run to the Hills a bit differently this time and frankly, it wouldn't hurt the performance if it came a bit earlier... Imagine it right after some massive epic or a tranquil song... BOOM!

Alas, it probably won't happen.

Yeah we did have it as song 7 on Eddie Rips Up The World tour. Definitely refreshes things when they play stuff in a different order.

I think OTGDY is the such song with the chance. For others? Idk.

The biggest stadium hit from SIT is Wasted Years, but I don't think they'll play it again. Maybe they'll want to keep Alexander.

I doubted songs from SIT, but the phrase: ''spanning the nine studio albums'' is definitely a key. I hope the set is longer then. And Wrathchild is probably certain, along with Killers. More chance than playing Aces High again imo!
I'm pretty sure Run to the Hills will be the closer.
I think so too, but I want a fresh spot for it, and easier for Bruce. Hallowed would be a great closer again. It and Hills are most likely certain for the encores. The candidates for the 3rd spot are: Number, Evil, 2 Minutes, Clairvoyant, Running, Daughter?... I think Trooper and Number could be played earlier. It depends if the set will have some themes going around with the screens.
