This also falls under "setting yourself up for disappointment". There's nothing to discuss from Maiden's POV. They play one of their biggest hits and have created a new animation for it.

And there is no way in hell there'll be any "words between members" on this matter. They are all on the same side of this.

Then, if they lost all self-critique, they should stop before they become a cabaret act. The thing is that this performance is below passable. Like Blaze's were in 1998. If you pride yourself in still being your best at 65+, you should also pick the songs that work for that age. And let's not act like Aces High is Trooper, Fear Of The Dark or RTTH in terms of popularity.

And if I was Bruce and someone asked me in the interview why we dropped Aces High, I'd simply say... I can't perform it on consistent enough on nightly basis to provide good enough performance for the fans. I can still sing it but not every night. I'd simply say "Fair." To that. But no, let's bullshit it.

You could say that, of course. I just can't imagine Bruce saying something like that.

Bruce is definitely sick and I like what he does with the altered vocal lines. I prefer that to his strained barking. BUT, this is not Aces High. It doesn't sound right and it wouldn't sound right if they down tuned it also. They should just retire it. That's all. They won't do it.

Dropping the song would be the sensible, reasonable thing, same with downtuning it. But this is a band built on being stubborn about the silliest things so it'll never happen.

Also speak of the devil, I'm listening to the radio for Midsummer Eve and the host just went through his thoughts on the Monday show in Helsinki. Interesting to have a more "casual" perspective of sorts since his main complaint was the stage show really wasn't all that and felt more like an arena show than a stadium one and that he's seen them have better stage design before. Other than that he loved it.

He then put Aces High on. So that's how that song is supposed to sound like, vocally and tempo-wise!
 
But can we talk about Hallowed Be Thy Name for a moment?

What happens at the end of the song? Does he come back to life, or is he entering the afterlife? Is that what the final lines mean, that he is with God. I've never thought about it despite it being my favourite song. Or am I reading to much into the stage show.

Any thoughts?

the problem with maiden is than they dont change nothing. If he is sick they pkay the same setlist. They coulf change 3 or 4 songs and we still hsve fun.
