RUN FOR YOUR LIVES 2025 Tour Thread *SPOILERS INSIDE*

Replacing a song at this point in the tour is problematic if you normally play the same setlist every show.
It should be easier with screens now.

But Bruce's ego won't let him go to the band and say... "Hey lads, just in case this happens again, can we rehearse something like Running Free, so I don't embarrass myself again. Let's have one soundcheck before the next date and run it through. We'll have the video team prepare something for the screen."

The are not old. ;) I am sure there was an interview where Bruce said that aging was just something you imaging in your head. There are so many interviews with him, I don't know if I can find it. But I remember it very clearly.
They aren't too old for 99% of the recorded songs, but Aces High isn't among them. They have 170+ songs, yet they choose this one.

If I was them, I would book an emergency rehearsal (or have one at a venue) and run Icarus, Prisoner, Stranger and Running Free. Simon is a professional, so I think he would learn Icarus and Running Free without a problem. Stranger and Prisoner were played with Simon in Portland. Go through them and pick 1 or 2 that can replace Aces if Bruce is sick. 3 of those were performed recently, while Running Free is a pretty simple song. Have the video team prepare the animations and Rob prepare the lights for all 3 and then you can pick the song on the day of the show.

Better watch this before it’s taken down. It’s pretty rough though

That is shockingly bad.

Looking good and odd. They rock them. Maiden Priest!

Wow, this is so, so bad. Shame for a vocalist like Bruce. Is he sick? Why do it to yourself. Just because of the video... come on. This better be deleted, it's a low for Bruce's career. We are happy and it is a bonus celebration, but this tour has quite a few things to complain about, all things considered.
I have one complaint: no mechanical or inflatable Eddie during Iron Maiden. Other than that the whole show is glorious (in Helsinki at least).

Yeah. Clairvoyant and Number are OK. Not the best, but completely passable.

Aces is horrible. Getting close to Blaze 98 disasters.
I thought, surely not, that'd be a crazy nosedive so I listened to it.

You really weren't exaggerating, huh. I assume Bruce is actually sick though since he can't even get the verses out and it's unfortunately been a regular occurrence on tour after his cancer treatments.

e: Oh there was another page. Well, mystery solved.

Probably. With 100% Steve Harris backing vocals.
With the way things are going, we're headed towards 100% Steve Harris vocals.

His whole posture screams of illness.

This is genuinely, unironically fucking awesome.

This might be one of my favorite versions of Aces High. I've said it plenty of times, but there are barely any live versions of that song that I actually enjoy (even in the 80s it didn't work as a live song for me). Here, due to being sick, Bruce made the smart choice of altering the vocal lines, sing more with his lower and mid range, and sing altered harmonies for the chorus. And it sounds fucking fantastic.

Seriously, the way he sings the second half of the verses sounds like something he'd do on his solo albums in the 90s. I'd take this version of Aces High over any that I've heard in the last 15 years. Y'all gotta remember: just because it's not identical to the studio version doesn't mean it's bad. Use your ears, this sounds far more musical than Bruce straining to hell and barking to even hope to reach the notes for the second half of the verses (as he normally does when not sick).

That Aces Low thing... is it Steves stubborness to have it in 2025 or where does that come from at all nowadays? I can't imagine all of the band is going collectively like "yeah, Aces Low, let's do that, as an encore! That's a great idea!"

Yes, the stage is not what I meant with my post.
At this point, it would be an unfortunate statement that would be picked up and discussed everywhere and that would unfairly overshadow a lot of positive things.
