Exactly. It’s just common sense.and it’s maddening because they have so many great songs they could easily put in, ones he could easily sing. It’s not like Ace’s High was a hit single or anything, they don’t have to play it.

But for this tour... I have to say I personally don't like all the merch. The Marinerslave one is okayish, but the rest... mehh.

An I know that because of the ego, they didn't rehearse anything else, just in case.

And they have a new drummer who has probably focused on those 17 songs.

If Simon drummed on TFP, They could've rolled out Stranger or Prisoner.

Not sure how ranting about AI is relevant, they do that regardless of the use of any AI. Even it was a hand-drawn animation or an old style painted backdrop they would still go back and fix an error and swap it out.

They have a long history of swapping out the physical Eddies or changing songs in the first few weeks of tours.

Adding Wrathchild, mostly.

Improvements should be celebrated.

Except those mistakes wouldn't have occurred in the first place if they'd gone that route.

they are not going to change it and we all know how they are. But they could start with aces high and put ides of march and murders as the first song of the encore.

It feels like bruce is trying to demostrate that he can do it at his 66. During his solo tour at the end of the show he put book of thel,darkside of aquarius and the tower. Only with navigate the seas of sun at the end. Crazy

Putting Darkside Of Aquarius at the end was almost equally disastrous.

Aces Low. Fuck my old boots.

I'm currently re-reading old FC magazines, got to the 2014 issues (fun to re-read them over a decade later). Made me nostalgic for the Maiden England tour which was also songs from the first 7 albums + FOTD by the way!!! And then I found this absolute gem that I hadn't ever watched.

First song after the WW1 dogfight is Aces High in the encore. Just wow, night and day difference:

 
Ok, Aces High is a disaster, but on a positive note, Bruce doesn't even try to sing those high notes anymore, which is a good thing. At least he will still have his voice to sing all the other songs. It sounds shite, but at least overall Bruce sounds great for his age.
I still don't understand why they didn't pick some songs that would sound great with Bruce's current voice, like Revelations or honestly any other slower song. Bruce still has a great voice, but they decided to torture him.
 
Replacing a song at this point in the tour is problematic if you normally play the same setlist every show.
It's like an official statement that the band couldn’t handle it.
It should become clear during rehearsals or at least after the first show, then it doesn't attract so much attention.
Otherwise you might be asked about it in interviews. Unpleasant. If you want to lie, the only halfway believable answer would be that you've noticed that the fans want a song that has been played less often.
But then you should have prepared that deep cut beforehand.
Or the management has to ban this question forever. Also sad. :D

I mean, they should have realised from the rehearsals or from the 2022 tour that they can't handle it. This time around at least the rest of the band can handle it. It's only Bruce, now. 2022 was much worse

I agree with the ones who wrote here that Bruce chose it. Nobody from the band would have tried to persuade him or torture him with Aces High if he wanted to sing another song.

The are not old. ;) I am sure there was an interview where Bruce said that aging was just something you imaging in your head. There are so many interviews with him, I don't know if I can find it. But I remember it very clearly.
