RUN FOR YOUR LIVES 2025 Tour Thread *SPOILERS INSIDE*

The screens looked good for some songs and looked shite for some other songs. Sometimes they were like "digital backdrops" and it worked. Now that they got the big screens, they have to combine them with physical props to top the Legacy tour. Just the screens won't be enough. Also, I hope they avoid obvious use of AI from now on (like the ROTAM video). This tour lacked the physical aspect and that's why it's the worst Maiden tour I saw live till now. I'll never forget how I felt, when the Legacy Revelations background appeared. I want more from that.

The animations on ROTAM looked weird to me, as a slow-motion representation of Samuel Taylor Coleridge's poem.

I really liked what they did with the screen on Powerslave and Wasted Years though, and I thought the big Eddie on Iron Maiden was good too.

Yeah these 2 were perfect (probably the best 2). The Murders backdrop was also good, the Seventh Son and Clairvoyant backdrops were great. I also liked the Hallowed "minigame", but not the backdrop in the beginning of the song.
I thought it was brilliant that they had screens on the platforms, so one minute they looked like pyramids, the next icebergs, the next part of a ship etc.
Yeah, that worked really well for Powerslave and Seventh Son especially.

Which ones were shite in your opinion, i thought NOTB was a bit lame but not much else.

I felt the same on Legacy 2018 when revelations appeared, just imagine what could be done with it now with a screen and maybe physical prop mix.

1. Number: didn't work at all
2. ROTAM : full on AI shite (at list in WaldBuehne with a smaller screen, it didn't distract me as much)
3. Iron Maiden : I need my physical big Eddie
4. Phantom : That's a regular backdrop, but so lame
5. Aces High : Now, this is an unpopular opinion, but this "videoclip" of Eddie really distracted me and I really didn't like what I was watching.

Yeah, the floor screens/platforms/whatever you wanna call them were perfect. Allowed a lot of visual changes with barely any effort.

The giant screen was a bit mixed for me. Some songs were amazing, others didn't quite work for me. Powerslave for example had a good concept, but the animation looked kinda low-budget. Gave me a bit of PS3 vibes lol
The big Eddie was brilliant though.

They could do it for the next tour to be different from this one. It's possible, why not. After all, RFYL is a natural next step from TFP, even from the previous tours. LOTB is completely different. A needed upgrade for a Maiden show and world, imo. It's impressive enough for me.
Now, that Maiden switched to screens, comparisons with other bands is inevitable. Ghost and many other bands do it better. We have to acknowledge that.
It's a matter of taste. For me, Maiden are one of the bands (they're not many imo, at least in metal) that do it best. For the most part, the current stage could be better and impressive (different and more animations, props, but with the screens and the main decor (which is very cool and important imo) is tough, much more pyro, more (side) screens). Also, impressive is subjective. They know how to make it, it's their first tour with a big screen. A relatively ''empty'' stage with a big screen is not how it's done imo. The props always add the most. Massive lightning rigs is just a bonus. The whole ''show aspect'' of a concert is another and cool matter, but Maiden always deliver with that part, including this current tour.

I got in to Maiden for their music and that is my main interest when i pay to go see them live. Far too much attention is paid to the stage set, it might not be perfect or as good as other bands but it isn`t my main concern when i see them live.
