In fact, I think that the "punk" of today shouldn't even be named that. It's simply pop music, but with guitars. For some reason, this makes these bands think they are punk rock.

To that, I say, no. Simply no.

"Punk-pop" today is seen as a fashion and is highly exploited by the music industry. Bands like Greenday, Blink 182 and to a lesser extent McFly and Busted are examples of where music has been targeted at a specific age group.

Just remember that not all punk is like this, and pop-punk was also out there in the 70's as can be seen here: [a href=\'http://punkmodpop.free.fr/\' target=\'_blank\']http://punkmodpop.free.fr/[/a]
It's just like metal in the respect that there is "tr00" and "untr00" punk, so I don't think we can call all punk today crap. [!--emo&;)--][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/wink.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'wink.gif\' /][!--endemo--]
