I'm really looking forward to this album now. I liked the single since the first listen, but it grew on me even more and now is stuck in my head. Cool stuff.

One thing that bugs me is that they did special shows for BWP, for Damnation, for Ghost Reveries and now for Damnation/Deliverance but still nothing for their best album Still Life?! SL is to Opeth what SIT is for Maiden: both band's best albums that the bands have at the bottom of their list.

Good comparison. It also has to do with both albums having more technically demanding material for the respective bands.

The Moor works like magic live. It was truly amazing to witness it. I'd love to hear Godhead's Lament, Serenity Painted Death and White Cluster live.

I think it will happen eventually. Mikael doesn't hold Deliverance in high regard either and they're playing it anyway.

That's so unbelievable for me. If it's true for the majority of the fans.

I wouldn't say it's the case for the majority of fans, but it is a very highly regarded album.

I personally can't pinpoint my favorite Opeth record, it changes between Still Life, Blackwater Park, Ghost Reveries and Damnation depending on my mood. I adore each of these albums.

I think Still Life is widely considered their best album. I think to most fans Still Life/BWP/GR is similar to PoM/Powerslave/SIT for Maiden Fans.

I'd say it's very good... but out of those three, it's definitely the weakest, just as PoM is in that Maiden example :innocent:

Hey PoM is the best Maiden album of them all. I agree that Still Life is the weakest, not just of those three but also compared to the three Maiden albums.
