Official Tourdates Discussion Thread

Re: More tourdates to be announced on Halloween says IM.com

I don't think that will be the case... I expect to see 1 or 2 concerts before the Texas ones.  As well, I expect them to do a full tour across Canada west-east and then finish with dates on the U.S. east coast before heading to Italy.

I base this on several long standing rumours of:

1. Vancouver gig June 3rd (makes sense with the Seattle one)
2. Regina and Winnepeg gig the 8th and 9th
3. Bruce's confirmation of a show outside Quebec City in mid-June (not a rumour)
4. New Hampshire show June 20th

When is the last time Maiden has been out in western Canada?  I've only started listening to them in 2003 and they've only been doing Toronto, Montreal, Quebec.  I would not put too much faith in rumours.

They did Vancouver in 2000.

And besides, this is a very good rumour.  It was around since about December or so that it was June 3rd, and then all of a sudden Seattle shows up June 2nd?  Seems reliable to me...

P.S.  There will also be an Alaskan concert, most likely after Vancouver...

Maybe it's because the album was released in August or September (I think?) and people claimed to "not have enough time" to learn the new material

Who cares if the fans don't have time to learn the new material. they are not on the stage playing it. I liked the concert, thought it was great.

Well, I see new American tour dates have been announced. they seem to do this everytime I leave the country so perhaps I should leave again so more East Coast dates will be announced. Texas is quite a hike from here.

Yeah, but it shows you just how long ago they started posting stuff about this tour. October. That was about 5 months ago. But this title makes more sense. Now everyone can come here for tourdate discussion!  :ok:

It could also serve futur tours -and that would be awesome

Yes! Consolidation and efficiency, that's the way to go. Why do I have a vision of new threads being started for each new tour anyway?  :S

Be cautious about info found on the Ticketmaster web site. If you search for Iron Maiden on that site, you'll see they're scheduled for Dec 31, 2008 in Texas ... that seems unlikely to me. So while the OH show is probably real, be careful about using that site as your only source.

I've researched this a bit myself. I think it's a little early too get excited just yet......

I got excited when the tour page couldn't be displayed as I checked on the official site earlier, thought they were doing an update, Nope, my browser just sucked at the time.

Leak.  There's also been a leak of a show in Clarkson (Detroit), Michigan that was taken down shortly thereafter on June 14th.

P.S.  Want to add this while I can... someone added a whole bunch of dates to Wikipedia, no real basis to this (minus the fact that it incorporates a series of very strong rumours).  Seems like a probability thing, not a factual thing to me.

P.S.S. This seems to really be a fake.  First of all, Regina gig is at way too small a venue, plus it is supposed to be on the 8th with Winnepeg on the 9th.  Second of all, many of the latter American dates seem to be at overly large venues in comparison to Maiden's popularity.  However, the 2 MSG dates are strongly rumoured.  I'd say most of the American dates and the timing of the Canadian dates are way off.

That looks like something right out of the World Slavery Tour.  Maiden doesn't play so many songs like that anymore.  That is most assuredly a fake.

Maiden has done quite well in the US for their nostalgia tours like this. If words gets out to rock fans that Maiden is playing the old songs, they can sell out those larger venues. Not will, but can.

Still no Alaska gig that is supposed to happen... but we shall see if this one is any closer to the truth.

What I'm hearing is that the next set of dates will be announced either at or after the March 14th gig.  Not sure why that is, but we'll see.
