I didn't see enough replays but I wouldn't doubt the double standard in the Argentina Egypt game. It didn't look like a foul on Salah in the box to me but only seen it once and haven't seen a close up of the McAlister incident before the Argentina goal.
So I've not seen enough to form a decent opinion and I thought Martinez was fouled for the disallowed Egypt goal but it's also rare that such a mild foul would be called back so long after the fact to disallow the Egypt goal. Not a usual thing. But probably a foul on Martinez.
I can't call corruption just yet but it certainly looks like Argentina got the best of those decisions and you have to wonder why. Oh, no, you don't have to wonder, it's cos FIFA are utter cunts and they prefer Lionel over Salah.

Huge favoritism yes, but not just to Argentina; any team that has massive audience will get it, i.e., Portugal’s scandalous treatment during the match with Croatia.

For Haalands push? I absolutely think that was a foul. There's lots of shenanigans in the box at corners and it would be a mess if they called all of it but a straight up 2 handed, fairly straight armed push is surely a foul in anyone's book.
On the camera goal, the UK coverage mentioned it after the match (featuring Roy Keane) , they showed one inconclusive replay and pretty much said "nothing to see here" and moved on.
I watched the Irish coverage of it after on YouTube and everybody, 3 Irish and a German (Didi Hamann) were disgusted that the goal stood. Make of that what you will.
Personally I'm sick of trying to find a good video of it in real time but from what I see, it looks like it clearly hits the camera and it's shocking that VAR didn't intervene at the time, especially considering the ball went dead.
Looks like favouritism/corruption.
Its a strange enough thing, doesn't happen often and I can see how the officials may have been confused but especially when the ball is in the net there's zero reason not to take a few mins to think about it. Unfathomable, really.

Strictly speaking maybe your right, but those kind of pushes they were nothing not so long ago. Haaland didn't influence the play. Same like Egypt's suspension of the goal due to foul, or even worse Croatia's suspension of goal. Outrageous. Or the red card against Switzerland.
All the above may be right by the letter of the law, but it feels so wrong. Feels like VAR has been used to apply favoritism to some teams.
Yes, clear favouritism, but I'm stunned on how Norwegians took their defeat without complains. Norway was a fine team, I could very well see them going to the final, even winning the cup with some luck. But again, too gentle, too compliant, seems like even Haaland didn't dream that big, let alone believing it.

Yah, the Egypt goal was dodgy. Probably a foul on Martinez but ye don't often see them get pulled back so far. But then isn't that what VAR should be doing for a goal? Since the ball is dead, why not do a quick check.
So I think that was a decent decision, my issue with it is that I wasn't a common or usual decision. Equality is all I ask.
Switzerland red? When Embolo hung the leg out? Definite yellow card, personally I would have given a straight red for such an attempt at cheating. But then I'm harsh of cheats and soft on hard tackles and high feet

Yes as I said, those decisions were right by the letter of the law, but also they don't feel right. I have the same feeling when a goal is dismissed as offside for a hair and so on.
The idea is that if referee is in doubt let him use the VAR. But if no one from the four referees wouldn't see it in the first place then don't bother with VAR.
See, calling the referee from the VAR room for such a case as the red card is suspicious especially that all the "right" decisions were for the favorites; how many more such cases were left uncalled we'll never know.
In case of Croatia the camera shows no touch and FIFA tells us that the chip showed there was a touch of hair with the ball, but in the case of Norway that the ball even changed direction the chip shows nothing.

Agreed about the hair goal, utter nonsense. And the ball seems to drop right down from the camera, totally unnatural and certainly enough to arouse the officials. But yeah, I looked through 10 videos earlier and it was all grainy stills an shit, no live action real time footage and I got fed up.
I agree that some decisions may be right but feel wrong. Like the disallowed Egypt goal and hair goal. Although hair goal isn't the right call in my mind, fuck the sensor in the ball. The ref should have let it stand. But Haalands push is an entirely fair use of var, to me. I'm bamboozled that some people don't think it's a foul.
Totally disagree on the use of var though. You say they shouldn't go to var if the 4 officials on the pitch miss it and I think that's mad. Why have it at all then? It's entirely designed to catch things that the officials miss.
And if you mean the Swiss red card then I think var did right. The ref gave a free for Switzerland. It was such a wrong decision and the sort of mistake var should be used for. Maybe var wouldn't get involved in a mild dive in that area of the pitch but that one was so extreme and deserving of a yellow card that var was totally right to call it back.
