The Netherlands and Germany are eliminated after penalty shootouts! Germany´s loss against Paraguay was the biggest surprise though.
Germany's first loss in a shootout in a World Cup match. They have participated in four before, taken 19 penalties and missed ONE.

Last night they lost after missing three out of six ...!

Also Antonio Nusa.

F... me we're through!!! Côte d'Ivoire was a tough match but we made it! Brazil next, will obviously not be easy but we will certainly give them a run for the money!

Also, I will be disappointed if we are not fielding a strong rowing team in the next Summer Olympics.

I am seriously considering going to Oslo for the Brazil game!

There are thousands and thousands and thousands of people celebrating Norway's in the streets of Oslo right now. Unbeliveable scenes.

We did it! Won our 4th match for the first time in 40 years, we are still on a winning streak and still have a clean sheet. England is our toughest opponent yet, but stranger things have already happened.
Congrats! Rematch from the opening match of group E in '94 if both Mexico and Norway can manage a surprise in the round of 16

The comeback of the tournament!
Senegal had more ball possession and played amazing in that first half. We were nowhere. After they scored the 2d goal I was truly convinced we would go home.

The only game on network TV yesterday was the Argentina v. Cape Verde and at first I didn't want to watch it. I didn't want to see Cape Verde get beaten to a pulp. Instead I think I witnessed the best game of the tournament. Cape Verde had Argentina sweating bullets. Even took them to OT! It was heartbreaking to see them lose after such an admirable effort.

Yah, that was my favourite match so far. From the outset of the tournament I wanted Lionel to lift the trophy again but last night I was firmly rooting for Cape Verde. They were simply magnificent and they really put it up to Argentina, played some wonderful football and that wonder goal was my top moment from the whole tournament so far. Magical stuff.

Pico Lopes from Cape Verde is the captain of my team, Shamrock Rovers, and the first player ever from the League of Ireland to play at a World Cup, so to say its been amazing to witness would be an understatement

Played a blinder too. Great story, being approached from the Cape Verde FA via LinkedIn for those that don't know. Now he has to get home for a Champions League qualifier, I believe.
