I just heard about some remarkable news.
Tomorrow, before the friendly match Germany - Netherlands, there will be no German hymn and there will be no Dutch hymn.
There will be a French hymn.

What bums me out is that the terrorist attacks by ISIS in Middle East receive no such reaction. They killed 43 people in Lebanon with two suicide attacks the day prior and nobody gave a shit. They killed 102 people in Turkey last month and it barely created a buzz in the West.
It only goes to advance the notion that the West only gives a shit about things when it hits them. Western lives aren't any more valuable than Middle Eastern lives.

Yes, but in Belgium there is a higher threat of terrorism. Last Sunday it was decided that Germany - Netherlands would continue. It was seen as something important, something symbolic, a sign of solidarity with France (and the German team who went through a great deal of stress and fear). A bummer that it doesn't happen now.
I think there will be a press conference soon about this match, but from the media I am following right now no one has a clue. A package was found, but harmless. Looks like a major "just in case" but in the light of events it's understandable I guess. I just hope that fear isn't getting too dominant right now.
