Van der Sar has barely lifted his ass from the club and Man U isn't champion anymore.
But what an end of that match indeed! I am also glad QPR survives (congrats Nush! and thanks to Stoke City) but I know another forumer who's not going to like the final table (position 1 and 2). My condoleances Wingman!

Cool that Van Persie has become top scorer of the season.

I'm not overly happy with this, no. However, I'm happy with the way United finished. They forced City to win the last two. The title was not lost in injury time today. It was lost in the last 15 against Everton, and in a too defensive team selection against City.

I understand you, Foro, are a great fan of Van der Sar, and who isn't? Still, him leaving does not play a big role in United not winning the league. De Gea has been good and United have achieved 89 points. Van der Sar could not have stopped City from improving.

I don't have any respect for how City have come to achieve success. Still, I have to congratulate the players on a great season, and Mancini on managing to build a quality team out of so many mercenaries.

And National Acrobat: Congrats on QPR staying up. I guess QPR will punish Barton for his behaviour?

Ruud van Nistelrooij retired today. He is the second-highest goalscorer in Champions League history with 60 goals. Three-time Champions League top scorer, as well as a top scorer in three different European domestic leagues.

'Van the Man' meant a lot to Manchester United. Worth the last penny they paid for him. 5 seasons, 150(!) goals in 219 matches and 38 European goals. Player of the year in 2001:

For Holland he made 35 goals, 3rd behind Kluivert (40) and Bergkamp (37).

Classic example of an intelligent striker. Scored very few goals from outside the box for United, but he would almost always be in the right place to get a finish towards goal. Better than most at reading the defenders, and infamous for his habit of fooling the offside trap. It's hard to understand that United failed to succeed in Europe during his years in the club.

Hats off to him. Becoming the top goalscorer in three different European leagues is quite an achievement.

Final standings:

1. RokerRoar73 ..... 1,950
2. Night Prowlers ..... 1,948
3. Dynamo Winterfell ..... 1,933
4. The Flash ..... 1,925
5. Ancient Mariners ..... 1,901
6. Blashyrkh Rangers ..... 1,876
7. Foro Stars ..... 1,439

Damn, I almost won. But it was exciting till the last round. Congratulations RokerRoar:applause:

Happy that QPR survived, but they should've tried harder to win/draw.
 You're trying to wind me up right? Little QPR were leading the league winners until the 92nd minute.

Delighted that QPR stayed up is an understatement. Last Sunday I had the Man City - QPR match on the TV in one room, the radio on in another, and a live scores programme on in a third; I paced between the three, maybe the most nervous I've ever been (and following football is supposed to be a pleasurable past-time!). I knew it would come down to the Stoke - Bolton match, and Crouchy didn't let us down. All it needed was him to pull off his shirt to reveal the blue and white hoops underneath.

Barton: there's talk of the club sacking him, and of getting up to a 10 match ban from the FA. I wouldn't mind him staying to be honest; since he was dropped and returned to the side he's been very good, one of the main reasons they stayed up.

So, nobody's going to congratulate Chelsea? :p

A rather subdued match for the most part (which is rather typical for finals, I guess), but it really picked up towards the end. Happy to see Petr Cech win it, I've always liked him a lot.

Robben sucks on big games. His two missed penalties maybe cost Bayern two cups this season (Bundesliga-UCL). And the worst part is that he tries too hard even though it's obvious that he sucks on big games. Let the game flow ffs.

Seeing Chelsea win it made me sick, and seeing John Terry put on the match shirt and joining in as if he had played the final ... ouch.

I agree on Cech, he is a likable guy. But the fact that Chelsea is captained by that wanker Terry, that their success is built on money that are stolen from the Russian people, and that they in fact were pretty lucky to get to a penalty shootout at all, I am hard pressed to find the motivation to come here to congratulate them. Especially since I don't know of any Chelsea fans on this board.

May I "officially" state that I have little to no interest in supporting England at the upcoming Euros. In fact I haven't decided which of the following to do tomorrow night: watch the England - Norway friendly, watch Eurovision on the other side, or revise for my exams.

I couldn't watch any of that myself.
This page made me chuckle though.

I'm going to watch the match. However, only on TV, even though I could still get a ticket and it is only 30 min away by metro. The reason? The cheapest - yes, the cheapest - tickets are 550 NOK (that would be about £60 with today's exchange rates). For a friendly.

I am definitely not watching Eurovision. In fact, I'd rather read today's newspaper over again than watching Eurovision.
