NOW WATCHING

Because Bart Simpson hinted LooseCannon to do it. Believe it.  :innocent:

And I only got tickets here at roughly $3.11!  *insert evil maniacal mr. burns laugh here*

Saw it as well, and I was surprised at how solid it was. A bit slow in the second act, but that was more or less expected when turning Simpsons into a feature. Some really sharp writing in there. Way better than the actual show has been for the past... 8 or so seasons :p And that's coming from someone who actually still enjoys it.

I just hope that if they do go for a sequel (which Fox will invariably go for), that they take their time and spend a few years getting the script done and not rushing into it like many others have over the past few years.

My thoughts exactly. I just watched it, and there were points were I almost fell asleep, but they were rare and more than made up for by some seriously hilarious scenes. A good watch, recommendable for all those who, like me, think The Simpsons jumped the shark many years ago.

It's been hinted already Shrike, if you finish the credits
Anyways, I agree the writing is solid, the jokes, though kinda cliche, were used so effectively.

I did see the credits, hence that remark. Just didn't want to spoil it :p I don't think that's a confirmation though, it was a bit tongue in cheek. Regardless, though, Fox will want a sequel :p

Now I'm definitely watching it. I was going to any way just for the sake of seeing Spider pig lol, but with these reviews my expectations are a little higher.

I don't wanna spoil anything, I'll just say that Spider pig isn't there just for comic relief.

Spider pig, spider pig, does whatever a spider pig wants... Can he swing, from a web? No he can't he's spider pig. Look out, it's spider pig!

Whatever happened to the spider pig? After the crap got dumped, it never appeared again!

I think I'm going to see the new Die Hard movie this weekend. Who here has seen it?

I have seen the other ones, and I liked them, so I assume this is yet another "continuation" of them?

It's.  Fucking.  Great.

I loved it from start to finish.  Good ol' fashioned John McClane action bullshit.  I loved it.  You'll enjoy it.

Indeed, this movie is grand!  I saw it the first day in came out.  You should have seen it sooner power-G.  Why?  Well the audience was quite wild and crazy.  Clapping and screaming in the beginning.  Cheering in the end.  Kinda like a concert!  It was just a great crowd with DIE hard fans.  Overall it's a great movie and I think you will like it?  (W/ or without screaming people)

It rocked!

Just go back from watching Ratatouille. Theater's empty since it was a weekday. Anyway, I can't believe I procrastinated that long to watch it, it was brilliant. The Disney humor was there, with humorous performances from Skinner's "hallucinations" and Linguini and the rat pack and stuff. There wasn't much cheesiness, as even the relationship between Linguini and Collete wasn't all perfect. The voice acting was just damn superb and the film itself was eye candy. I'm impressed at how much care they gave to it.

And come on, that spirit guide idea is brilliant!

LC and Char are right, great fun movie and the audience had a great attitude, who knows this far into its release.

I saw Martin Scorsese's Taxi Driver (1976) last night. In case anyone here isn't already familiar with it, it's the story of an isolated taxi driver (superbly played by Robert De Niro) in New York City shortly after the Vietnam war who wants to clean up in the city and do away with all the scum, a wish that culminates in his attempts to save a teenage prostitute (Jodie Foster). It's a great film; exciting, atmospheric and well-written. Definitely worth seeing.

My husband and his stepson saw Die Hard yesterday cuz I was working and they loved it! He wants to take me to see it.

We did see 2 movies that are worth renting over the weekend, maybe a few of you have heard of them:

1. Duel (1971) This is Steven Spielberg's first ever directed movie! It's about an insane truck driver who chases after a regular man in a red Plymouth. It begins in LA, going on the 5 and stuff, and then the guy goes into the mountains and this trucker in an old Peterbuilt just flies past him! then he gets right in front of him and slows down, and the guy gets pissed. All through the movie the guy, David Mann, tries to call cops sayig "This truck driver is endangering my life!", but he's all alone in the middle of the mountains. At the end his radiator hose goes as he's going up a big hill trying to lose the truck. Then he puts it in neutral going down the mountain, and the truck is right behind him, then he does a 180 and faces the ttruck head on, opens the door, jumps out, and the trucker and the car fall over the mountain and it's over. Very interesting! I read the little paragraph on the back of the DVD and was intrigued. Rent it if you see it! The music was different, but it's '71

2. Two Minute Warning (1976) It begins in rural LA, and a sniper shoots an old man riding on a bicycle with his wife. he checks out of the hotel to get ready to go to the LA Coliseum. Charleton Heston is a cop for the LAPD. There's a big game today, Baltimore vs. LA for the Big 10 Championship (or something like that). This sniper sneaks his way to the top of the scoreboard past 2 Dobermans to get the bast vantage point. There's a big shot guy (Quincy, according to my husband, Jack Klugman? Before my time, obviously  :P) who's gambling $30,000 that LA will win, and he gets a phone call from one of his buddies, so he goes to him. He's pissed cuz he owes him $28,000 and the guy assures he will have the money Wednesday night, as long as LA wins. The guy's associates grab him as he's trying to leave, they take him to the balcony and threaten to drop him. He gives in, and the guy's like "You better win your game today..." or something, and he leaves, all flustered.
In the control room, there's about 20 cameras focusing on the game, including the Good Year Blimp. As the game gets started, one of the cameras sees the sniper on the scoreboard. One of the broadcasters says something, but they keep it hush-hush, so no one panicks. By the end of the movie there are cops and SWAT team members everywhere, looking out for this guy. the sniper kills about 10 people before he gets killed himself. LA ends up winning the game.

2 excellent movies from the 70s, my husband has seen the 2nd one before.

I'll look for the Taxi Driver, Shadow, looks great  :ok:

I remember seen The Duel many years ago - and I agree, it is a good movie.

You talkin' to me?

I've just watched Taxi Driver, and I found it very disappointing. Robert De Niro is one of my favourite actors (someway behind Al Pacino), but I just didn't see much in this film. I actually watched Taxi Driver again a few months ago, and enjoyed it a lot more than I did first time, and my opinion of it has rocketed. A lot of it might be to do with the mood I was in at the times of watching it, as the first time was one of the worst nights of my life. It's strange how thoughts of a film can change so much with a second viewing.

I forgot to say that I watched Transformers: The Movie last month.
A great film indeed.
