NOW PLAYING

I thought as much, I ripped Empire of the Clouds off my own turntable, which helped me discover that my turntable is playing fast as well, as the rip came in at under 18 mins long.

Yeah, it sounded grand, I hadn't noticed any change at all before seeing the running time, nor in the interview track on the b-side (no high pitched voices  ).

I thought maybe there was a skip which caused the reduced running time, but when I played along with the guitar, the guitar wasn't in tune so it's obviously a pace thing, the turntable spinning too fast. Apparently it's a common enough issue and can be fixed easily, I just need to bother getting it done.

The opening riff of What Do You Do For Money Honey is almost unlistenable. It was already skirting the limits of good pitch on the original recording, but here it just sounds horrid. I'm going to try and slow down all the songs using Audacity.

Okay, I've done it. I might have made them a fraction of a second too slow, but they sound much better now!
