They are a very good band, great live. I am not a massive fan, but have seen them recently 3 times (one promoting Autofiction and then twice on their 2024 co-headline tour with Manic Street Preachers).

Utopia Banished is the only Napalm Death album I have genuinely warm feelings for. I’ve never listened to their entire discography.

Sometime in the ’90s, my cousin came to visit from another city for my birthday and brought a Utopia Banished cassette with him. Among other things, we played that album, and we also recorded our own little metal radio show on a tape recorder - we chatted “on air,” and in between all the funny nonsense we played heavy music, which became part of the recording too.

I remember that later I bought Harmony Corruption, and it disappointed me immensely because the musical style was completely different. If I remember correctly, it was much more straightforward, traditional death metal.
