Chaos A.D. is Sepultura’s Black Album. It’s definitely a bit toned down, adapted for a wider range of listeners, nicely produced, and very pleasant to listen to. At the same time, it retains a rebellious, even punkish energy in some songs.
Countless nights in the ’90s were spent in a darkened room, rocking out to tracks from this album and playing on a fake, cobbled-together guitar. (Very rewarding material for that attitude-driven pseudo-performance act, ha ha.)
Refuse/Resist, Territory, Slave New World, Propaganda, Manifest, The Hunt. Huh!

I think with this album they were on the way to becoming a very, very big band. But then Roots came out, which I found very disappointing, and later both Cavaleras left—and soon Sepultura became one of those bands whose full potential was never fulfilled…
 
Chez Kane Powerzone. The album is sprinkled with some nice guitar melodies. Guilty of Love — major goosebumps.

The song “Powerzone” — I hear 100% Ghost in one of the guitar licks or riffs. Heck, even Maiden and Priest?
