NOW PLAYING

God, the drummer's voice is perfect for the Beastie Boys' song. And Halford swaggering out like he owns the place is so badass.

Tuomas, don't be silly. Get back with these two (and bring Jukka out of the semi-retirement, just for good feels) and I'll hop on the first plane to whichever country you decide to do a reunion in. I mean, I'm willing to literally go to Argentina or Singapore or wherever you say.

Night Demon - Maiden Hell
(References about 2 dozen Maiden songs; lyrics in the comments);
Saw this band open for Overkill and King Diamond last October, they were good

Bob Dylan once said about Alice Cooper that he is an underrated songwriter. And it's not just that those words live rent-free in my head regarding Cooper, but there are times when I think to myself that's an underrated category in general, lol. Listening to this one, with all the nostalgia/hatred towards that particular point of time, listening to the lyrics, acknowledging how proper it is for Williams in particular to perform this song... it makes me think Williams and Guy Chambers are underrated songwriters as well.

Not the video, mind you, that one's silly, but the song itself, incorporating Gloria Gaynor's I Will Survive (which is depressing to me, for obvious reasons, just listen to the sound of that track), giving vague hints of the clubbing era around the turn of the millennium and all the casual romances and the era of "cool" around that time... and in general, the representation of dating as you get older, this one's more legit than people usually realise, methinks.
