I wasn't all that appreciative of this album when it came out last year. For some reason I've just begun to really enjoy it. I blame the old 'Katatonia in hot weather' thing. Although most people consider them autumn/winter music.
Almost done with 365 songs of Dio! This album is incredible. Hearing Dio do some of the Sabbath classics (with proper recording and mixing) is an utter joy.
"Well ya play that Tarantella all the hounds they start to roar
The boys all go to hell and then the Cubans hit the floor
They drive along the pipeline, they tango till they're sore
They take apart their nightmares and they leave them by the door
Let me fall out of the window with confetti in my hair
Deal out Jacks or better on a blanket by the stairs
I'll tell you all my secrets but I lie about my past
So send me off to bed forever more"
"Mona tried to tell me
To stay away from the train line
She said that all the railroad men
Just drink up your blood like wine
An’ I said, “Oh, I didn’t know that
But then again, there’s only one I’ve met
And he just smoked my eyelids
And punched my cigarette”
Oh, Mama, can this really be the end
To be stuck inside of Mobile
With the Memphis blues again"
