Not particularly those 2 songs, but it's puzzling, yeah. It's very different with Maiden, I must say.

So far, the new material has been a letdown.

Letdown is a strong word, but I understand you. Unfortunately, they are not instant ''classics''. Ragnarok could have been with some different parts.
