Quite possibly my favourite Judas Priest album.
SAS (along with Killing Machine) is probably their best 70's album as a whole piece for me, although it contains 2 songs that I don't like at all.
What a three albums in a row ( Sin after Sin, Stained Class and Killing Machine) with Unleashed in the East closing a phenomenal period. Just Wow!
We can also add SWOD. I'm not the biggest fan of the band's 70's era, but the music is/was unique.

Bruce Dickinson - Skunkworks

Time for something different.
This is my 2nd listen to the album today and I have to say I underestimated some/most songs. It's not my favorite style, but Bruce did a good job, as always. Short energetic songs with nice riffs, solos, vocals and especially cool choruses (which is really important for me). I've neglected this album for far too long. Different style is not bad. I finally understand its charming vibe. Very good production too. And the short titles are unique.

Now I can say it's a better album than TM and it's close with BTP (which I like).

Btw, Bruce likes the album a lot, iirc.

That being said, my preferred version of the album would be these 8 strong songs:

Space Race
Back From The Edge
Inertia
Faith
Solar Confinement
Inside The Machine
Innerspace
Armchair Hero

1- not that big fan of the verses, but the riff and the chorus are cool.
2- my least favorite song from the list, but the chaotic mood, the solo (plus the part before it) and the chorus save it.
3- really good song, especially the calm verses and chorus.
4- cool mood, more-metal riff and a fantastic chorus. The solo is pretty good too.
5- great intro, riff and post-solo part. The verses are some of my favorites from Bruce. Love it.
6- the chorus grabbed me. Really fun song.
7- probably my favorite song on the album. Great groove, and vocals, riffs and rock solo, ofc.
8- one of my favorite solo songs of Bruce.

^ I really enjoy these songs. Other songs that are kind of nice are: ''Headswitch'' and ''Meltdown'' (''Dreamstate'', ''Octavia'' and ''Strange Death In Paradise'' all have some cool parts in them).
