Blackened Scottish folk metal from a one-man outfit. There’s a limited amount of pot banging and harsh vocals, but most of it is really melodic and well done.
A forgotten gem. One of the band's best short rockers imo. Heavy riff, great verses, pre-chorus/chorus, solos and Bruce is on top form!
I don't understand why this song was not played more often during BNW tour, it's such a great live song (the end of the song is really cool live). The same can be said about ''Out Of The Silent Planet'' (it was the 2nd single from the album, after all), it just needs bakcing vocals from Adrian during the chorus. I wished both songs were on RIR 2001, but I guess six new song were enough for the band.
-> at least we have the performances of both songs in Argentina 2001 (too bad there was a problem with Bruce's mic). These were the last two songs in the set.
I started to like and appreciate this song more. Great ballad-y type of song with a nice chorus, great solos, amazing (unmistakable Maiden) melodies and a unique ending. Dave shines again and this song is one of his underrated gems.
I wished we have a song from him in 2021 too (not to mention in 1984)...
