legendary SHAI HULUD. my second fave band, almost on the same level as Iron Maiden for me, yet for many years. I absolutely love what they're doing, I adore it. Matt Fox (boss & guitarist, --->the guy in the permanent front) is a big Iron Maiden fan himself btw, and I remember talking to him and Bassist Mad Matt Fletcher by their merch desk before their show in Bremen, Germany - they told me they liked my Somewhere In Time Shirt I was wearing that evening (I was the absolute only person with Maiden shirt among all Hardcorers) and so we spoke a bit about Maiden, later they played their gig. and as an encore to their show they played their own version of Maidens The Trooper which was nothing but a reference to our smalltalk right before their show. very sympathic gesture. (the video below is not that show, but a different great gig.)


another thing we spoke about was a thing that for some reason never came to happen: they planned to change their name from Shai Hulud into THE WARMTH OF RED BLOOD - and I thought (and still think) "wow, THIS belongs to the coolest band names ever heard"...)
