"Nostalgia" tours

They toured for new songs in 2003 and 2010, but they also released Breeg ahead of AMOLAD as a single. I didn't say they were touring, I said hyping.

Oops, my mistake, sorry!
In that case then, I'd hope they release the single early but then just tour on the whole album.

Nuno, these tours are officially referred to as "Cabaret" tours here. :)

Somewhere Back in Time
4 songs from Powerslave :D
4 songs from SSOASS  and then played the same 4 SSOASS songs on the Maiden England tour  and only added the song SSOASS. No Infinite Dreams :(
4 songs from NOTB
2 songs from POM :whogivesafuck:
Only the same 2 songs from SIT we get all the time to begin with o_O Not the tour I thought it would be :(

I hate the fact that these "retro" tours never really toured the UK properly. Total nonsense!
I call them "retro", but cabaret tours would be more appropriate.
Maiden are in danger of turning into a real nostalgia act...

Not if they're hyping one new song in the summer to promote the album in advance, like they've done for the last three albums.

Edit: I also don't think Maiden has a big problem with repeating material live.

 Although I can see the point about Maiden repeating material live (some live staples are frequently played, but since the reunion I have seen them 25 times and 'Iron Maiden' is the only song that has been always present in their setlist), I wonder what people might say about Ac-Dc! I have seen them in different tours in the last 20 years and the setlists had a whooping 13 songs that would be played on each and every of those tours! To put things into perspective, Maiden has performed more than 70 different songs live since the reunion...

I don't even think of Iron Maiden as a song in the setlist anymore. It's more like a "act" or theatrical production signalling the end of the main set.
