Exactly, could be a really fun listen on occasion done by people who know what they're doing and respect the source material.  This is just a lazy cash-in.
 
Did anyone listen to the samples on the amazon.com site? Unless these are REALLY poor quality, they don't even sound like real string instruments--just some dude using Midi. Which is lame as hell to pass off as a "string tribute."
 
I'm the kind of guy who like all kinds of music. Even if I'm not into string music, I adore it.

But this? I fucking hate it, it all just seems to be rushed and played in a hurry which destroys the hell out of something that could've been good.

Like the audio samples of Fear of the Dark and Dance of Death - the two songs are amongst my favourite Maiden songs ever. They just... ruined the songs.
