Hello everyone. I am creating this topic as a 'directory' where members can post their Maiden and related bootlegs they'd be willing to share with others around here.

It's up to people to arrange transfers between themselves, and abide by the hard and soft rules of bootleg trading, e.g. no commercial stuff and no lossy media.

Here's my list :

Also, stickying this topic. The DC hub is increasingly less active and can't be accessed by people who didn't make an account on the site before they closed to new users who knows how long ago. This seems like as good a place as any to rebuild a digital sharing community for Maiden.

It's a sad affair. I wasn't aware that registration is closed - I'm sure the admins would be willing to register a new user that already has a collection - via a private message of a hub member. "Invite" system of sorts.

The hub's numbers are being kept alive by people from other hubs (such as Echoes of PF) and 80% of the shares isn't Maiden or related. But it's up and running, therefore I don't see the point of denying new people access. But even getting to the right URL of the hub on the web is not straightforward.

@Zare what do you mean by no lossy media?

Well the general rule (in bootleg community) is no MP3, AVI/MP4 and such compressed formats.
99.8% of time such bootleg will be second-hand, meaning someone compressed the optimal version for whatever reason.

I did this before with concerts I wanted to listen on my cellphone so I'd convert them to MP3 for storage sake. But if I wanted to share it with you I would send you the original version, which would be in FLAC or some other lossless codec.

Edit : Foro I presume those are audio concerts in your list? No videos?

Ah, I may need to remove most of what I have posted then (in most cases I do not have better quality than the obtained MP3s).
I'd say lossless is important but secondary to the content itself (especially if one does not have these gigs!), but who am I.

EDIT: If you're okay with it I rather add the note that these are MP3's.

Of course by all means do.

We are here mostly to enrich collections in between ourselves.

I can get you those in lossless format if you want it - I'll edit the intro post for this.

Okay. A lot of these files are 15 to 18 years old. Flac wasn't that popular, or at least I do not remember it from that time.
So still very authentic stuff. ;--) I wouldn't rule out that some of these flacs were created out of audio CDs, created out of ancient MP3s. :p

You can rule that out 100%. Why and how is offtopic but you can rule that out 100% ;)

Do you happen to know anything about a "Pre-Broadcast Master" of this Ullevi show?
Iron Maiden – Gothenburg 2005: The Pre-Broadcast Master (Discogs)
For some reason, it can't be found anywhere but apparently some Japanese bootleg stores have it. I'm wondering if it's really an upgrade.

I've not ran into a variant designated like that.

I do know the DVD-DL variant is a rerun over digital TV recording. Unlike the original which was is a recording of a standard def. TV.
I do not believe there were other sources. Original broadcast, and rerun about 10 years after in HD. The variants might differ in whether they have interviews, TV commentator intro and other goodies, but the sauce is either original or HD rerun.

V1 - Maidenboots's version - With TV intro + Backstage interview (133 min runtime)
V2 - Nokiabox's version - Widescreen 16:9 (103 min runtime)
V3 - V1 in two DVDs (103 min runtime)
V4 - Team Pipari's version - 16:9 with optional 5.1 with small fan interview (107m runtime)
V5 - DVD-DL 16:9 5.1 with intro, backstage and other side material (140m runtime)
V6 - DVD-DL 16:9 5.1 with optional LPCM including Reading 2005 (123m runtime)

The DVD-DL in my collection is V5 or V6 while the DVD is I believe V1. I'll recheck that.

The disc linked on that side is 99% V5 or V6.

Why and how is offtopic ;)

Well it isn't that much of a topic so let's talk about it here.

15ish years ago I was starting with digital trading. I came to the hub with 0 files, over a promise I'll create an initial pool of 1 Gig of audio bootlegs and seed them. That initial pool was made slowly from hub downloads. However hub is a small community and everyone knows everyone. I wanted to go grab DVDs (Spectrum 1987!!) and I didn't want others to see me as a leecher. Although I was free to download anything after making the initial 1Gig audio stash, I wanted to contribute to the thing, so I went hunting for the bootleg that everyone wanted and it wasn't on the hub - "Kings of the Twilight Zone". I managed to get it somehow from elsewhere, I don't remember how but I brought it in and everyone was happy.

Although I know there's a completely deterministic way to see if the audio signal has went lossy compression from the frequency analysis, I did not know people on the hub would be so dilligent about it. I also thought, well it's FLAC so it's ok.

I believe it was Tommy the hub admin/owner who contacted me and said there's a problem, the first track has been transcoded from lossy, all others accross multiple CDs are ok. We agreed to take it down and instead of files i put readme.txt in that dir which outlined that available bootleg is partially lossy and its not auto shared but contact me for transfer.

Some time after, someone else brought the 100% correct bootleg in. The first track was indeed a different digital file - all other files had the same hash signature. So I just got that file and completed the bootleg.

Whether you find lossless as benefit to you or not (many people have a ton of portable music where size could be a problem) - it's deterministically detectable and a rule in the community which these old cats really abide to. As I was a new kid around I decided to take those rules to heart.

Thanks mate, that's very detailed and helpful. My copy is probably V5 because it doesn't have the Reading footage.

I first thought that it must have been leaked form the Swedish TV station if it was a "pre-broadcast" video at all just like pre-FM recordings leaked from radio stations, but now I feel it's pretty unlikely.

Also, stickying this topic. The DC hub is increasingly less active and can't be accessed by people who didn't make an account on the site before they closed to new users who knows how long ago. This seems like as good a place as any to rebuild a digital sharing community for Maiden.
Its not closed to new users, the web address for the forum has changed. Tommy666 took it over because he did not want it to close when the other Maiden site closed years ago. If you go to THIS forum, create an account and read the info and then PM Tommy you can still get an account on the DC++ hub.

Oh and I do have some Maiden stuff myself on my trade site. Always looking for lossless trades. :) https://herzeleidmeister.com
