Metallica, mostly due to more familiarity.

Megadeth are (mostly) technically superior but, though I like a lot of what I've heard of theirs, it hasn't really inspired to me to want to take a deeper dive into their discography. Actually, their technical superiority is possibly one reason why I've never wanted to dive deeper into their music, I tend to prefer Metallica's simplicity and more accessible approach, even in some of their longer songs. In fact, Metallica's most technical album (Justice) is one of my least favourites of theirs.

I love a lot of Metallica's songs, though I don't think they're particularly good at writing albums, as nearly every album of theirs is way too long. But I would still rather revisit my favourite Metallica songs than my favourite Megadeth songs.

Also, anyone notice the question of this poll is "Which band does it to you better?". I laughed, 'cause I'm a child.

I think my logic back then was kinda similar to this. Megadeth has lower lows
Supercollider is very bad, but lower than Lulu, St. Anger or 72 Seasons?

But does Rust in Peace have any songs that match the title track to Master of Puppets? I'm not sure.
Holy Wars, Hangar 18, Take No Prisoners, Five Magics, and most of all, Tornado of Souls. All of them blow Puppets out of the water, even though Puppets IS a great song.

And Justice For All comes relatively close to Rust In Peace (closer than Puppets), but RIP still wins.
I actually like Risk and think it's about as good as Load/ReLoad (which I also like).
Dude. Whatever drugs you are taking, stop it!
Lulu and St. Anger are abominations.
Mildly put.
But no other Metallica album reaches the uninspired lows from many tracks on albums like The World Needs a Hero
While definitely not a great album, TWNAH is no abomination like Lulu, and still heavier and more inspired than Shit Magnetic and all the crap that followed.

The last really awesome Deth album was Youthanasia, but at least Cryptic Writing, Endgame, TWNAH and Dystopia were solid. Metallica has not released anything worth mentioning after 1996, and even thats only valid if you look past the fact that Load was sellout. Not a single interesting song in 30 years. Not a great album ever since 1988.
The black album had 3 great songs, Load had 2.
