i'd recommend you Iced Earth, well not that much melodic, but if u like Maiden, you'll like them too. Definitelly, their best album is Something Wicked This Way Comes
 
I recommend Blind Guardians. If you will download them, start from "Imaginations from the other side" or "Nightfall in Middle Earth", their best albums.

Horror Show and The Glorious Burden are more accesible and Rhapsody is Symphonic/Epic Metal, not Power/Prog. I'm picky about these things sorry
