I'll do all the promotion for them I can, and I asked them if they would be playing in Derry anytime soon. They said no /tongue.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\":P\" border=\"0\" alt=\"tongue.gif\" /]

What about Belfast? Metalitia (good Metallica tribute) are playing Spring & Airbrake on the 5th May, but I'm trying to save my money. /sad.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\":(\" border=\"0\" alt=\"sad.gif\" /]

They played the Yuletide gig up in the Rosetta there last Christmas, but there aren't any thrashers up North and theres no real crowd response. If they're playing any gigs round your parts, I'll pm you and Conor with the details, no doubt I'll be up at them anyway /wink.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\";)\" border=\"0\" alt=\"wink.gif\" /]
I beg to differ :: Thrash is probably the most popular genre in Ireland, I would say that most of the "fans" though are 13 year old nu-metallica trend followers ::

Well I beg to differ also :: Thrash is definitely not the most popular genre in Ireland, I would say that Death is (the sludgey death, not the good, technical stuff) is the most popular. These "fans" you speak of know nothing of thrash or its face melting glory. They know two thrash bands, possibly three: Metallica, Slayer and Megadeth and proceed to try and disgrace (for me anyway) these bands while looking deep and dark and depressed..etc. There are very few Irish thrash bands, possibly five that I can think of, all fairly small and know to very few. As to my comments about there being no thrashers up North, that comes from personal experience. Mabye they didn't come to the gig I don't know, but as far as I know there isn't a proper interest for thrash, not just in the North but most of the country, though people are coming around to the fantastic riffage of some local bands. [/differ]

EDIT: In my previous post I meant to say there aren't many thrashers in the North not any ::
