Don't mention the war.

@Saapanael

Personally I think the studio version is cleaner in respect to Davey's solo. RIR I hear rapid legato sweeps and sixteenth note flourishes but when listening to it it sounds like a huge blur, if that makes any sense.
Eric, like Saap you seem wedded to the word legato in describing Dave's lead technique! :p
The word you're looking for, in this instance, is tapping.
[You probably couldn't have picked a better example to illustrate Dave's use of tapping (which is unusual for him, as he doesn't employ the technique often) & not using legato.]

Ah really? That's interesting because I had made that mistake vice-versa when talking about Dave's final solo in Powerslave on another thread. I'm a classically trained cellist and although some of my closest friends are excellent guitarists, my knowledge of guitar technique only goes so far. XD

Watch it on Youtube --it's pretty much the only example you'll see of Dave tapping live. Having said that, Janick never uses tapping live, & Adrian only sparingly too.
About 07:52 on this one.

Dave's Sign lead is a classic example of him tapping, yes. About the clapping: not only here, the audience always claps in wrong timing because they can't keep rhythm ;). Going to post again, don't have time atm.

The 2014 Tour will include dates in countries not visited during the 2013 leg and will be a much shorter run than is usual for a Maiden tour. Manager Rod Smallwood explains,

“The Maiden England 2013 Tour was incredibly well received everywhere and there is much demand from fans to see more and for the band to visit some places in Europe we couldn’t make it to this year so we thought we should play a few more shows.

Where are new countries???

Yeah, yeah, yeah. They're saying one thing and doing another. Like that's news.
:D :P

So far, just Denmark... but as I said earlier, the 2014 should have a total of 22 shows, if we are to believe the press release. 11 more announcements to go...

I'm betting they also hit Norway, Finland, Spain, Portugal, Poland, Ireland and maybe Greece, though things are a bit dodgy there with the financial crisis.

Things are a bit dodgy economically in all of those countries except Norway and Finland.

True. I guess Greece is the one I've heard in the media the most. Still, I'd be surprised if they skipped any of them.

As would I. If they can play gigs in obscure and dirt poor Latin American countries during Flight 666 and SBIT, I'm sure any country in Western Europe (or even some east like Poland) shouldn't be an issue.

Perhaps they'll do a bit more eastern Europe as well, Belarus and Ukraine maybe?

Belarus from what I know is kind of cut off from the media because of their government so I'm not sure a gig there would be productive, let alone any nation in the post Eastern bloc.

It would be interesting to see a list of countries Maiden's played in.

True. Plus, they haven't hit Greece since 2014. So they're far overdue for a Maiden-ing.

Do we know where else Sonisphere will be held this year? That could provide some clues as well.
