Maiden Tour 2014 (SPOILER TAGS REQUIRED WITHIN)

In all the excitement surrounding Dream Theater being announced on Wednesday I for got to mention that it was four months until Sonisphere. :(

You know what? Since we're not getting a DVD this year (we'd have surely heard by now) we must be getting one in a year's time of this summer's tour. Rod hasn't finished milking Maiden England for all it's worth just yet.

Well, Kevin Shirley said they recorded and were releasing Donington 2013... maybe it's a case of not wanting to pollute the market by releasing a DVD of the tour before the tour is actually over?

Either way, as much as I bitch about the 2012-13 setlist I still think the current live incarnations of ATSS, The Prisoner, and SSOASS really do deserve a release!

Sounds like something new may or may not happen and Nicko may or may not know something about it if it does happen (which it might ((but also might not)) ).

"It's the Somewhere Back In Time Tour... beg your pardon, Seventh Son, we did that a while ago..." oooooh, Nicko.... :D

Ehh yeah, but the Seventh Son tour was even longer ago than SBIT tour. ::)
Switching one or two songs.... that's not much

I think he knows more than he's letting on. Leading up to the initial ME announcement, he said "We'll be touring in the summer, but we don't know where or when". He's got to have at least a group of songs he's practicing... showing up to band rehearsals and being out of practice on some new tunes in the set would be counterproductive.

Did he not say they're rehearsing in May? Why would he be practising stuff before that? I mean, you're right, they've possibly talked about it; but I doubt he's practised anything.

Personal experience- I'm a drummer, and practicing some tunes a couple months in advance is certainly not unheard of, especially if they're going to be playing some tunes they haven't played in a couple years. So maybe he's not practicing quite yet, but I'll bet anything he does have an idea of which new songs may pop up in the setlist.

A common saying among bandleaders/musicians: Rehearsal is NOT practice time. Rehearsal focuses on the group as a whole, and anyone worth their salt as a musician will have practiced the parts on their own by then so as not to hold up progress.
