Maiden Tour 2014 (NO SPOILER TAGS, ENTER AT OWN RISK)

Checking out some of the footage from this tour, the dynamic ending part of Seventh Son of a Seventh Son rocks the crowd every single time. Hopefully the reaction will turn the song into a staple in the upcoming tours.

As much as I would like that to happen, I think it will be one of the songs they'll put on the shelf for good after this tour. I hope I'm wrong though. Also agree with Travis, that Aces High will make its last appearance on this tour.

Yeah, unfortunately Seventh Son, the song, only really makes sense as centerpiece if the whole show/theme is centered around it...

Even if Seventh Son doesn't make a return, there should be a good old centerpiece epic in the upcoming tours. Looking at Rime of the Ancient Mariner, obviously.

There should be! But I think Rime has seen it's last performance too...Considering it was the centerpiece of the "back to Live After Death era Somewhere Back In Time" tour

Of epic tracks possible for future tours I'm looking at newer classics, like Paschendale again, or Dance of Death and the likes..

Personally I think Moonchild, Seventh Son, Revelations, Aces, and maybe Phantom will never be played again. But I hope that Run To the Hills shares that fate too.

Aces High might open the farewell tour. Moonchild, Seventh Son probably won't be brought back. Phantom will definitely be played again, probably also on the farewell tour. Run To The Hills will be back too. I think Rime will be the farewell tour's epic.

All this provided they actually do a farewell tour. For all we know, they might record two more albums, tour both of them, and then at the end of the second tour release a statement that says "That's all folks!" :D

Don't think so. I expect Rime to make a comeback. It's the quite-essential Maiden epic, is a very popular song among the crowds and the band alike, and it's been 5 years since that tour.

-Seventh Son not returning means I missed my only chance to see it live, Maiden played in Istanbul last year.

I know there's a bout a .00000000000000000000000001% chance of it, but the ultimate epic song to pull out for the farewell tour would of course be Alexander The Great. Hell, I'd be glad to hear any song from a past album that's never been performed live. Even Quest For Fire. Just to get something that's never been performed.

If Alexander The Great was ever to be played live, I'd like it to be the set opener. It'd work perfectly IMO. If not that, then the encore opener.

After what happened on the 2010 leg of TFF tour, I'm pretty sure we'll never see Paschendale live again. Dance of Death is pretty likely though I think.

I'd be very surprised if we don't see Revelations and Run to the Hills again. No way will they ever retire RTTH and they seem to really enjoy playing Revelations.

I think it'd be a great encore opener. Slightly too much of a "deep cut" for an concert opener, methinks.

It's interesting to note that the 2014 press release says "[it is likely this is] the last time fans will EVER hear some of these songs played live."

Okay, I can see that being true for maybe less than a quarter of the set: Moonchild, The Prisoner, SSOASS, and Aces High. Granted, the word "some" is very ambiguous, but come on... bit of a stretch there, guys...

Then again, maybe they really are retiring a lot of the overplayed tunes we've come to expect. It'd be pretty refreshing if they did another tour like 2010, with a less "hits"-heavy approach.

When they did the Early Days tour back in 2005, Bruce said on stage a few times that this would be the last time a lot of these songs would be played live. Granted there were a lot more deep cuts on that tour, but he was right; they haven't played a lot of those since, and they probably won't. I feel like it's almost tradition that they retire songs on the history tours, because it's also rather likely that we won't see Rime and Powerslave live again.

As far as this tour goes, SSOASS is probably done. Moonchild and The Prisoner are likely too. I think Aces will end up being the opener for a farewell tour if they ever do one. Basically I think when they say that they're going to retire songs, they're referring to the deeper cuts. They rely on their overplayed songs way too much to retire those.

Would be nice if they do another album tour when they release their next album. Was so refreshing to hear them do different songs during the amolad tour.
