It's really odd. When TBOS came out I lost much of what I enthusiasm I had for TFF, but now we're in the post-TBOS era, I'm getting new found appreciation for TFF.

6-5 to TBOS
 
The first pair: just cruel. I'm going to have to go with Eternity, but what a terrible choice to have to make.
Speed of Light - not a tremendous favourite, but I find Revelations a bit meh
Great Unknown - Icarus is tremendous fun, but I'm very fond of TGU
Red & Black - Again, not a massive favourite of mine, however, Boots doesn't do much for me on the whole
When The River.... - because it's not Cross Eyed Mary :p
Trooper - Another tough choice. I love TBOS, but Trooper has stood the test of time
DoG - More fun than Still Life
QFF - Got to have some comic book silliness
Tears - Not so keen on the cheery exuberance of S&S
Man of Sorrows - better all round IMO
Empire - Less Kwizatz Haderach, more dignitaries, brandy and cigars
 
Piece of Mind is my favorite Maiden album but I'm still shocked at the walloping it gives TBOS (which is also a very good album): 8 - 3. Only the last three matches went to TBOS. There were some close ones though, namely the opener. Come to think of, Where Eagles Dare and Eternity could very well be the band's two best openers. Quest For Fire got extremely lucky going up against Shadows, a song that is probably in my bottom 20 for Maiden. Quest For Fire would've lost to anything else on the album. Cross Eyed Mary was equally lucky to go against a meh rocker in When the River Runs Deep. That being said, Cross Eyed Mary is one of their best b-sides and probably their best cover.

5-6 for TBOS.
Damn. Some of the toughest choices so far (Icarus vs Great Unknown; Trooper vs Book of Souls; To Tame a Land vs Empire), that really could've gone either way (and might change depending on the mood and everything). But TBOS winning for me seems fair and not surprising.
 
When the River Runs Deep, Shadows of the Valley (which are among my favorites on BoS) and the rest is Piece of Mind. As said elsewhere, Where Eagles Dare vs Eternity was a tough call.

I'll be reinstating the tie, reinstating the tie once I work out how to vote on a couple of tricky ones. The run out on TBOS (song) is top drawer but I could live without the verses so The Trooper will probably take that one for me.

The toughest pick was the Boots x TRATB one. I went with TRATB in the end, because of the stellar instrumental section.
