Quiet day in here, eh? Let's get it moving with a little story from an unnamed local newspaper somewhere in the world.

One day they were going to run a story about an 80-year old man who was going to become a first-time father. But shortly before deadline, one of their reporters sent in another news story, about a shooting accident where a man had been rushed to hospital after his hunting companion had accidentally fired his rifle. The junior co-worker in the editing department somehow managed to put both headlines on one page, the result was as follows:

80 year old man becomes first-time father
- I had no idea the gun was loaded, he says
 
When I left work today, the funeral ceremony for a former German president was going on outside. It was quite poignant.

Day 3 of the new job. I should post pics.... I finally got enough stuff cleared off to get to my desk and wire up a laptop. :/

But, people and job are great, good times, lots to do!

I was totally prepared to dislike this because, well, Scott Ian, but Joey Vera kicks ass and this song is pretty damn rockin'.

I have to admit I thought of the Ozzy incident too. :D He was concerned about the welfare of the bat, though. Awww.

It's a metal bird because bats are metal's answer to birds.
 
I stayed up all night trying to figure out the problem my laptop has, ran scans, etc. I'll go for the formatting option now. HDTune did discover one bad sector in the HDD, I'll re-run the scan after the format. Don't want to apply to an authorized service at this point, because they're likely to replace the HDD instead of trying to mark the bad sector unusable. If it does demand a change regardless, I'm gonna go for a SSD instead of HDD.

Yeah, it was a good move, and I'm pretty excited about it! Now... there are only 2 of us in the IT, so title is mostly just a 'name'... but still :)

Love a SSD! Hope that works out for you! For my laptop, I like that idea-- I don't need a big drive, give me a smaller SSD and external storage and I'm a happy guy :)
