I'm watching A-team season two with my girls.

Ran just under 2 miles, grilled hot dogs and brats, checked on the puppies, and now just wasting time with the girls....

got your note, tho...

Puhleez.

You really think any gas station would have something beyond the best-selling beers? They have limited shelf space and aren't interested in catering to non-mainstream tastes.

If you're looking for quality beer at a gas station, then the problem is yours and not the station's. Find a liquor store or even a grocery store.

I'm sure there used to be a law (at least in the UK and France, I'm sure of it) that forbade petrol/gas stations from selling alcohol - to avoid drink-driving. As almost every big petrol station (at least in this country) has a mini-mart of sorts attached, they're all doing it. If that law ever existed, I wonder why was it stopped?

OH, you are correct.  I have been spoiled by some of the nicer gas station/convenience stores, and was just surprised that they didn't have any Michelob.

They didn't even have Yingling? That's strange.

Yingling?  isn't that the little orange guy on 'Drawn Together'?

@Albie-- that would make sense, tho we don't have any laws like that.  Only that they can't sell liquor before noon on Sunday's.

But, like your country, almost all of my 'gas stations' are convenience stores now.

Where I live, only a provincial crown corporation can sell alcohol, except for 5 small groceries in extremely remote locations which are licensed by the same corporation.

Also, nobody else watched my video :(

Also, your legal drinking age is ridiculously late at 21.

Yeah, we gotta wait til 21... funny thing about those laws-- you can't purchase liquor under 21, and can't have possession of it, but (at least in Illinois) you can drink it, with your parent/gaurdian under 21.

I am not a proponent of the 21 year old drinking age. It should at least be 19.... like anybody follows it anyway!

Albie, not only do we sell beer in gas stations here, there are some locations that have drive thru alcohol service, like a fast food restaurant. Cool huh?

Wasted, you have never heard of Yingling? It's America's oldest brewery.... and yes, it pretty much sucks too; although it is better than the ones you mentioned.

Not exactly like fast food - it's still illegal to have an open container in the car.

But I do remember the drive-thru liquor stores well...
There was a time in my life when the Thursday night routine was 1. check-cashing store (Thursday was payday and I had no bank account) 2. weed man 3. drive thru beer 4. home for Simpsons. (Yes, this is way back when The Simpsons was on Thursday nights.)

I can agree with that but the 16 year olds would have to do it in the confinement of someone's home. I remember being a drunk 16 year old, I should not have been allowed to roam around freely.

No, I agree.  Or have adult supervision.  My parents never had a problem with me having a party, so long as they were there (and by "there", they meant upstairs in their room in case someone gets hurt).  I never took advantage of that, but both of my sisters did.

Man, don't remind me about the craziness of teenage girls, I am dreading the days that my 3 reach that mark.

Drinking: 16, purchasing/bars: 18, in my opinion.  It's 19 here for both.
I think, but I could be wrong, that it is legal for a 16 year old to drink alcohol (but only stuff like wine and beer) in the UK as long as they are with their parent and in a restaurant having a meal (or something like that). But that may have been revoked a while back as seemingly the age people start to drink here is getting younger and younger. The legal age of purchase is 18.
