You have no idea how close to the truth that is.
A classic:

Caller: "OK, I need to find the A key.....ah got it"
Tech: "Why do you need the A key?"
Caller: "It says press a key to continue."

Have you read 'sphere' by Michael Crighton?  The movie was so-so, but the book held lots of suspense-- granted, if you saw the movie, the book won't hold so much suspense.

Ok, cool.  I liked it...

If I think of something else, I'll let you know.

For a book that requires your nightstand thesauraus, try Michael Chabon's 'The Adventures of Cavilier and Clay'... its about two boys (almost men), that are Jewish cousins, one from NYC, the other escaping from Europe, just before the start of WWII.  It documents how they lived in that era, trying to make a living as comic book writers. A great story, really.

I jumped off the album elimination insanity to clean the water trap under my bathroom sink. What a nasty job. What I found in those small parts of plastic snd steel seemed to be very much alive, I swear I could even hear distant humming. But now the water is running out in 1/10 of the time it used yesterday, and I will sit down and enjoy a very much deserved beer.

Come chaps, cleaning out the sink trap is not that difficult. Do it yourself - and then get yourself a well deserved beer. :D

And why did I say "chaps"? It sounds so awfully middle class.

Lucky you
